A life saver if you have extreme Hip Pain!
Exactly as described! It only took seconds to put this on. I used pliers to turn the wing nuts that were already on my wooden seat, and used a large screwdriver to hold the bolt top still. Lifted the wooden seat off, plopped this one on and then laid the wooden one on top. This comes with some really long strong bolts which I dropped in the holes, tightened them with the wing nuts, and it was good to go! Literally :-) Definitely a life-saver when sudden hip pain attacked. It was both hips, out of nowhere, and to stand and sit was just excruciating. Very thankful to have discovered this!

Great product
I finally decided to purchase this item and I am very happy I did. The product I purchased was the 3.5 riser and it’s perfect. The only problem I had being disabled is it was difficult for me to get the screws in place with the wing nuts on under the back of the toilet. If you’re disabled I recommend having someone install this for you even though it’s very simple for the average person to do. I have absolutely no complaints and highly recommend this riser.

Seat help
Very nice seat. Recommended it highly I just ordered the wrong size. So now UPS won’t take it it because of return label. I don’t know what to do. I am off my feet for now and had it taken to a store that ships ups. But UPS says label is no sufficient. Confused!?

It works for toilet sciatica
I guess I misread this. Thought had cushioning on top. Nope. Hard seat. That being said, I have toilet seat sciatica where legs go numb sitting on the toilet. This higher seat fixes the problem. But it's quite uncomfortable and hard. So took one star off.

Saved Me From Suffering After Surgery
Saved me after hip replacement surgery.. I could not sit on the standard toilet without excruciating pain. This made it so much easier and it's so easy to clean. It's nice and wide, too.

Perfect!
This saved me after my hip replacement surgery! My toilet was lower than I thought and was difficult for me to sit in without breaking after HRS protocol. It really helped the pain sitting on the toilet too. It’s comfortable too.

Should work, but design could use improvement.
In the end it worked, but what should have been a 5-minute installation turned out to be about an hour. The toilet seat assembles onto the riser and is held in place by two long bolts that replace the current toilet seat bolts. The first difficulty I encountered is that the bolt heads for the elongated bolts were so big that I couldn't close the caps that hide the bolts on the toilet seat. 10 minutes with a grinder and I was able to "modify" the bolts accordingly (see attached photo of before and after bolt heads). Next, the area at the back of the riser that the bolts go through is displaced about 10mm upward rather than lying flush on the toilet surface. This means that if you tighten the bolts, the front lifts up from the toilet. Why this was done, God only knows. I used the washers from the original installation hardware in a stack with some garden hose gaskets to create a shim stack to bridge this gap (see the photo, the gaskets compress some, so I guess the gap is 9-10mm). As a final touch, I added some double-sided tape between toilet and the riser at the front edge of the riser (you can seem some in the picture above, but in the final installation, the two pieces were replaced by a single piece about 2" wide at the front). It's rock solid now. It's pretty clear to me that whoever designed this has never installed one. Not a chance. I'm an engineer with over 30 years experience and this design could be improved significantly for little effort. It's kinda mind-boggling. Oh well, it's for my 93 year old mother who is coming over for Thanksgiving. I think it should help her immensely getting up and down. It's just a shame something should have been so simple was unnecessarily complicated.

Served purpose
It helped alot to be able to sit after a knee replacement. The problem is hard to clean under. Maybe youre supposed to take it off. But I wash the tiolet everyday, so that is a pain!
