Brother Roger of Taize: Essential Writings (Modern Spiritual Masters)

As one who has been a part of Taize worship in the USA in the past, I now have a much better understanding of the spirit and theology of the man behind it, as well as the derivation of his philosophy for the community.

Excellent look into the Taize community.

I stumbled upon this little book after reading extensively online about the community of Taize. The first third of the book focuses on the history and organization. The rest are pearls of reflections by brother Roger on various topics, prayer, trust, reconciliation, love... They are not born from an intellectual philosopher or theologians, just words from someone who knows well the condition of the human heart, in communion with the heart of God. I find my own faith budding in spring time, through these simple lines of reflection, reaching towards light, reaching for life.

Br. Roger's words will echo in my heart long after his passing thanks to this book.

Brother Roger writes with simplicity, clarity, humility and love. Very encouraging for any reader. Wish I had the insight to write in this way!
