This is a well-made product. The yellow cable is paired with the white cable and so is presumably the sound cable which would normally be red (leaving the red cable as a video cable).I actually got a difference on my TV when I switched from "DVD" to "DTV"; however, while there may have been a connection, no content was passed.Testing with an HDMI-to-VGA convertor revealed this difference: the convertor identified itself to my laptop as "DigitalTelevisionLCD,SVGA" and was recognized as a display but this cable did not, and so was not recognized (the days of manually configuring a display are, it appears, long gone).Comments on a similar product suggest that this is intended for HDMI-compliant items that identify themselves using the component video cables, if that is possible. This would allow using the component video inputs as an additional HDMI input. My TV, of course, is far too old to do this.An HDMI splitter does not help: the splitter does not recognize the TV as a proper device either.I'm keeping it: sooner or later I will, no doubt, acquire an HDTV and, if it has component video inputs, I can test it again and see if it works in that context.

My Blu-ray player worked perfectly fine on my bedroom tv, but I wanted to bring it out to use with my living room tv. The HDMI ports don’t work on that tv but the rca inputs work just fine on it. I have always used them without any issue with other HDMI products like my directv box. I used this cord with my Blu-ray player and it didn’t work- just said “no signal.” When I went to plug it back into my other tv where I’ve always had it plugged in with the regular HDMI cord that I’ve always used it wouldn’t work anymore!! It broke my Blu-ray player! It was working perfectly fine just minutes before using this stupid cord with it and now I can’t get the signal from the Blu-ray player to the tv using any cord. Garbage! I would give this zero stars if I could. Not only did I waste money on the cord, now I have to buy a whole new Blu-ray player.

Wanted to use it for a Roku to a component input. It did not work

Great solid product, but nowhere did it state you would still need a convertor. I don't even see the point of selling it without one cause it won't work without it. I hate leaving such a bad review, but it's pointless!

This item works great and is just what I needed to get my last device connected to my TV. If you need I connection like this I would highly recommend it.

Dont know how it works bc it doesn't work at all. Tried on roku and a something else and doesn't work.
