The Pentel Tradio Sketch Pen is my favorite pen. It allows you to write with the flair and expression of a very expensive and ostentatious fountain pen, using wide strokes to very tiny lines and everything in between. It is superb for sketching. But the Tradio is not expensive or complex. It accepts refills, so there is no ink spillage. It does not require refilling from an ink bottle, which can be a hazardous undertaking. You can drop the Tradio, and the most damage that will be done is to the refill, not to a very expensive gold nib used by pricy fountain pens. I have lent my Tradio to many people. The uniform reaction has been positive. Most people ask where they can buy one.

Overall, this is a great reliable drawing pen. The tip feels scratchy at first but I got used to it as I started drawing more with it. I don't have any complaints other than the ink splatters a bit when sketching or drawing too fast, but once I realized this, I started drawing a bit more slowly. Also, the pen bleeds when held in the same location for a second too long. Also, the pen itself is very lightweight.PROS: Water based, so it doesn't bleed when using alcohol markers. Creates dark, thick or thin lines. Ink dries immediately and will NOT smudge. It can be refilled!!CONS: Tip feels scratchy, and ink splatters when drawing fast. Some parts of the nib do not ink when tilting pen or drawing at an angle.Bottomline: I would definitely get this pen again, or recommend it to someone who is using it, while sharing some of the cons of course. It really works for the type of medium that I use; Copics (alcohol based markers and pencil and ink)

This pen is fantastic, I initially bought the black, and I liked it so much that I ordered the blue and a bunch of refills. You can use this pen for all the usual stuff: writing, sketching, drawing, writing cards, whatever you use your pens for. The difference with this one is, depending on your precise pressure and pen angle, you can vary your line weight from fine to quite bold. Once you play with it and figure it out you'll wish you had bought one sooner and you'll find yourself disappointed with every other pen you use. This pen was a great buy.

I love this sketch pen. I use it for everything! It’s a nice sharp point but deliciously inky. Bought it for sketching but I use it for crosswords and anything else I can get my hands on, I love it so much!

Can’t wait to take to the zoo

I like the feel of the fiber tip. I get bold or thin lines by varying the pressure on the tip or slightly rotating the pen. It's what I carry in my shirt pocket for note taking, shopping lists or my drawings. It is my favorite. Also, it has a large ink supply.

Best pen ever - but not many people stock it

When the pen arrived it was leaking and the tip of the pen was damaged
