My Father's Glory and My Mother's Castle (Picador Books) Paperback – 20 September 1991

What a wonderful read this book is. It whisks you away to another world, when life was a lot less hectic and people appreciated the land. Provence of over 100 years ago was so different to the Provence of Peter Mayle. The 2 stories really draw you in, and you feel for the characters in the book. I'm so impressed with the stories, that as soon as I finished reading, I have started to read them again.

Great book to read enjoyed it

Whilst it was very well written, I run a book club and this was a recent choice. It was t well received due to the content. But this view is purely personal.

Good for Pagnol fans and lovers of Provence.
