Pretty simple if you are replacing existing
I was replacing an old tank that overflowed because the mechanical top seal broke. All in all it was a pretty simple install. I did need to cut the pipes cause the connections landed higher than the old one. I used a dremel and cut them, sweat the old pieces off, cleaned them and sweat them about an inch higher. It worked out very well. I recommend reading the instructions twice initally and then going in for the install. Lastly the float says it ships separately so I am currently using my old float...only time will tell if one will actually ship eventually but the system only fills the brine tank for 12 min and is well under the overflow port.

It is heavy
Still sitting in my kitchen because I am unable to get the issues resolved via customer service.Long story short: I requested and was ok'd a 3/4" bypass adapter instead of 1" before my order shipped. I was given a 1" bypass. The lid for the brine tank was not made well and does not fit on the tank.I have been trying to resolve these issues but they are not responding in a timely manner.I will update this review if they come through.Update:Customer Service has remedied all issues. I received a 3/4" bypass and also a new brine tank with a lid that fits properly.

ON-line U-Tube was helpful versus written manual.
As I had a Culligan system in before, the hookup of the Fleck system went smooth. I did have a few mistakes setting up the computer (controller) but with the help of Aplus, all is running well. I did not feel their written instructions were that good and therefore went on line to obtain more complete detail.

Designed so salt does not bridge in the brine tank
These are the best softeners in the market. I have been a plumber for 21 years, so take my word for it. These units don't operate like traditional softeners. It looks similar, but does not require lots of water to sit in the brine tank with the salt (which causes bridging of the salt). I removed many other brands and replaced it with this one. It makes a huge difference with calcium build up.. especially with our hard water in Calgary, AB, Canada
