Best Red Lipstick Long Lasting & Luxurious - Matches All Skin Tones - Helmut Red Limited Edition

Gorgeous color for photography — and yes, I'm a photographer.Not much staying power, but my models don't tend to eat, drink, or constantly lick their lips during sessions.A fantastic shade, for the work I do.

This is beyond a shadow of a doubt the absolute BEST red lipstick EVER. I am a makeup snob. I readily admit it. I subscribe to beauty boxes, love high end and high quality products, and am really hard to please when it comes to lipsticks and lip glosses. I have tried literally every brand of lipstick I could in various shades of red for twenty years now, though. Lower end grocery and market makeup like Maybelline, Cover Girl, NYC, Wet n Wild, Loreal, Revlon, etc. as well as higher end department store lipsticks from MAC, Clinique, Elizabeth Arden, Estee Lauder and Lancome. I have looked in boutique brands like Urban Decay, Tarte, Too Faced, Hard Candy and NARS. none of them had quite the red I was looking for, though I have found some beautiful shades of red and various other colors through the years (NYC is typically my go to for cheaper great colored lipsticks and NARS is my favorite for higher end.)BUT THIS ONE is my PERFECT shade of red. The one I have been searching for for years. This Helmut Red from House of Exposure has Great Pigmentation, goes on smooth and doesn't dry out and it has a rich color that lasts for a very long time. It is a very high pigment and looks stunning, not too orange like some reviewers seem to think, and is not too dark at all. It's like a red poppy on my lips, if that makes any sense at all.I have fair skin with dark hair and eyes and it looks beautiful with my coloring. BUT my friend has even lighter skin with red hair and it looks beautiful on HER, too! I even put some on my friend who is Hispanic with dark olive toned skin and it works great on her, as well! So versatile, so rich in color, and I have been looking for that perfect red shade for years now, so I was thrilled to find this. I saw it in Vogue and had to track it down because it looked exactly like what I had been searching for for so long. I am so glad I did because the color is perfect, it lasts a long time, and I have finally found that ideal red. It will stain, as it is highly pigmented, so just be careful when applying. It also looks great with a gloss on top. I recommend the Balm's Plump Your Pucker in Fruit Punch, as it has given me just the right shine when I need it, but it looks stunning as is, too. I highly recommend this lipstick to anyone looking for just that perfect shade of red.

This lipstick does NOT match all skintones, namely my fair pink undertoned skin. This lipstick has a hot pink base tone, not a true deep red. It looks hideously clownish, and the fade down is worse as it becomes lighter and brighter, neon pink. Looks even more clownish bc I am a natural redhead.I bought this lipstick bc I'm a huge fan of Helmut Newton photography and style, but this color was an enormous letdown. I only added an extra star because I love the "film roll" design of the tube.

It feathers a bit but that's always a problem with red lipstick. Its a nice shade...if a tad scary for someone like me who usually wears neutrals and pinks. But its a nice change.

I have been a fan of RED lipstick since I was a little girl back in the days of when ladies wore pantyhose. Pardon me for hiding my age but lipstick shades aren't solely age related unless it's shocking "Black,Blue or Orange" that maybe intended to attract a 14yr old to 25yr old who's fond of rebelling towards the establishment. I haven't worn this lip rouge as of yet ...because as a business owner there are certain times you can apply rouge without sending a message of..."Look at me"! I prefer the deadly RED's as I call them when I'm traveling for business or social settings. Now I opened the tube and it's worth the price value,the smell is typical of what you may whiff when you apply this tube. I smeared a little on my finger tips and it looks pretty good. Just be very careful not to wipe it on WHITE shirts,blouses and dresses because I noticed that this shade may stay on and require soap ,cold water to remove.

Arrived in great condition. Seems like a nice product but the color is MOST DEFINITELY NOT good for all/most skin tones. I (auburn & blue-eyed) was washed out, cousin (brown hair and eyes, dark skin tone) looked garish. :( The description says it's blue based but upon seeing it and wearing it, it looks to be more orange.

It's not a true blue red but it's till a nice shade of red. It will not look good on all skin colors as advertised and you MUST use a lip liner or it gets everywhere.

I bought this to use for makeovers for an Egyptian themed birthday party....this was supposed to be for me, and my daughter, but the cheaper red I ordered for the kids didn't get here in time, so we had to use this for the little girls. My review is it went on smooth, was very moist, and blended great. The kids also loved it, but I have to say I am still finding red lipstick smears all over my house, and I can not get them out lol.
