These are great approach shoes
All the reviews seem to be listed under the green pair of Zen Pros on Amazon. They should consolidate the reviews b/c these are the same shoes, just different color. These are great approach shoes. They are hefty like a hiking boot, but has the fit/comfort of a running shoe. The liner is very soft and comfortable on your feet, especially important if you wear these all day. The rubber toe rand is substantial and will likely withstand a lot of abuse. "Sock fit" + lacing system allow you to get as snug fit as you want, or as loose as you prefer. Great quality workmanship, especially compared to competitors. Great looking shoe. I wear these to the store, while traveĺling, and outdoor activities. So far they have been great on trail runs, fast hiking, hikes with 50+lbs pack, and even indoor rock climbing. I chose these over the Scarpa Crux b/c I felt the latter were a bit too light, less support under the foot, and didn't feel as durable. I used Nikwax Fabric and Leather Proof as recommended by Scarpa and it provides good waterproofing but doesnt make shoe noticeably warm. Makes leather a bit darker but i actually prefer the darker tone. Plus after dirt, etc from use it will look the same.Update: It has been 2 months now and these shows are still great. Just know that because the outsole is softer and thus "stickier," it is not as durable as some of the harder rubber soles that are made by Vibram. At least one corner had a small piece torn off while rock climbing wih them (very small and unnoticeable). Also, there are three small grooves on the front outside edge of each shoe meant to assist in edging. I was walking on jagged rocks and I believe a rock edge must have gotten into the most outer groove and nearly cut that entire edge off. Luckily I was able to glue it back with Aqua Seal. Still sticks together. I recommend once you get your shoes, not only use Nikwax, but also put some Aqua Seal into those grooves to fill them level. That way no rock edge can get in the groove and potentially shear a corner off. After letting dry per instructions, apply baby powder or dirt over the application before walking on hard surfaces. Otherwise the Aqua Seal with stick to the hard surface and quickly peel off. Also, if you don't want to affect the color of the shoe, try waterproofing spray by Danner. Doesn't cause leather to darken.

Best off trail shoe I've found
This is my third pair of Scarpa Zens. I hike off trail most of the time, I do a lot of bouldering and I usually get my feet wet. So, I am bouldering with wet shoes. No other shoe I've worn - and I've tried many - grips the rock, and my feet, as securely as the Scarpa Zens. I simply can't be as confident in any other shoe.I find I get about a thousand miles out of a pair. Your results may vary, bear in mind when I am hiking it's for several miles off trail through muddy and rocky terrain as well as in stream beds. For trail hiking they would probably go 3x as long. These shoes feel very stiff to the touch and when you first put them on you'll wonder how they can be comfortable but they are so well designed they feel like a second skin, and when you stand on them they feel like they are propelling you forward. I've never experienced that with any other shoe, e.g. Merrill or Adidas. They break in very quickly, but remain stiff to the touch until the seams come apart.A word of warning, they do run a little small. I wear a 12 1/2 - 13 US, the EU equivalent is 47, my Scarpa Zens 47's are snug on my big fat feet. Snug is good. Too small is not good.

Scarpa fits like a glove. Grippy Vibram sole.
There is something different about Scarpa. I've owned four pairs of Scarpas now over the years, and their fit is more sculpted to my foot than any other footwear maker. I also have the mid-height Zen Pro, which I wear in cold weather. The Zen Pro low hikers do fit snuggly over the top of the foot at first due to the thick padding - especially in the tongue. I do buy them in a slightly larger size (48EU vs 47EU normally). After wearing the Zen Pros a few hours, the padding compresses to fit your foot and they fit like a glove. The Zen Pro's have a very sturdy Vibram sole, with a relatively stiff footbed. The rubber sole is fairly "hard" - meaning they will grip rocks and wear well. They are true hikers with a tread depth a little deeper than some approach shoes. With the hard rubber soles, they might mark your floors if worn indoors - which I minimize. I wear these low hikers for bicycling, as the Vibram sole is very grippy on platform pedals. Overall, I love the Scarpa Zen Pros.

Great multi-season shoes: rugged, comfortable, not too heavy nor light. Well made and durable.
Love these Scarpa. Have not taken them out hiking yet but used them over 5 days walking in Disney Orlando in 100F degree weather with no problem (they actually have good padding so winter use should not be a problem unless walking in deep snow, but the heat did not kill me in the 100F weather). I have other high heel Scarpas and boots including Merrel, Adidas, Salomon but needed low-heels as I am prone to discomfort around my talus (talofibular ligament area) that deepens when I use above-the-heel boots. They fit snugly but not tight (I'm usually a US10.5 and ordered that same size). They appear durable and able to take some rock scuffing. Good sole grip and great laces. They are comfortable to wear and resulted in no blistering, discomfort or stress to my feet.

Comfortable, stylish, great fit, but runs a bit "warm"
I love this shoe...fits great, comfortable toe-box, can be dressed up or down (urban and trail). I bought it for long urban walking days, where I could be wearing shorts or pants, and might end up on a trail. My only complaint/observation is that my feet warm up very quickly in this shoe. There isn't any ventilation in the upper and the interior has the special 37.5 climate control lining. It is difficult what what might be causing my feet to feel excessively warm in these shoes, but I suspect it could be a combination of the unvented upper and the lining. I own several other shoes with solid uppers (Keen, Timberland) and don't notice that problem with those models.I bought them with the intention of wearing only for summer/light-weight wear, but will wear these in the winter and see if things change due to the colder temps.I'm also inclined to try the regular Zen (which does not have the lining) and see how my feet feel.
