Brush Wall Plate White 2 Pairs Deco Bristle Single Gang Wall Plate with Mounting Bracket for Low Voltage Cable Pass Through White

I was a bit concerned with some of the negative reviews on this product, with comments that the screws were missing or did not fit. My experience was very positive. I used 2 of them to get 2 cables (HDMI and Ethernet) from one room to an adjacent room. All parts were included in the package. It includes a template which has a sticker on it - you stick the template on the wall in the location where you want to install the outlet (locate the studs before you do that), and you draw around the template with a pencil. You then use a saw (I have an oscillating tool) to cut and remove the drywall. You insert the black mounting bracket and secure it in place with 2 screws -- do not over-tighten as you might break the plastic. The decorative plate is attached to the brush part, so you first remove the 2 small screws on the decorative plate to separate it from the brush part. There are 2 longer screws in the package. You use them to attach the brush part to the mounting bracket. If you are a perfectionist, you can use a level to make sure the brush part is vertical. You then re-attach the decorative plate to the brush part with the 2 small screws. Installation was really a breeze and the fit looks secure. Do not over-tighten any screw as you may break something, but that is true of any item like this. The price is a bit high for something like this, but it was still 30% cheaper than what I could find at my Home Improvement Store. I highly recommend this product.

It’s VERY seldom that I write a review let alone a negative review. I just want others to avoid a similar mistake in purchasing this item. I thought the reviews looked great so I jumped on it.I’ll cut to the chase. The design is horrific. The faceplate barely covers the bracket. I mean BARELY. There’s no room for error. Okay, I got that far and cut my hole well. However, the face plate screws don’t align to the bracket. As such, securing the faceplate to the bracket is impossible. They provide other screws if you want to try to drill into the 2 mm thick drywall left on the sides, but there’s no way that’s going to be able to be drilled through without the wall just crumbling into a mess. Absolute terrible design. Honestly, save your time and look elsewhere. I’ve returned mine and am glad that I did. Just wish I knew before making the holes in my wall

I had a contractor installed the wall plates for my wall mounted flat screen almost 2 yrs ago. It was done (according to them) using behind the wall HDMI cable, then separate HDMI cables to connect the TV and Receivers. Well, recently picture quality issues and to the point where it just went black !!Well, it turned out to be the poor contacts of HDMI wall plates. To solve this problem I bought a good quality 20' HDMI cable to connect receiver directly yo TV by running/hiding it behind the wall.When installing this mounting bracket and brush wall plate, I can see how badly the contractor did his work (untidy and left lots of dry wall dust over the exposed part of the old HDMI connector wall plate. Worse, it was loosely screwed directly to dry wall.It is no more the problem. Mounting bracket makes sure all is firmly clamped to the dry wall. The opening allows me to vacuum all the dry wall dust out. The brush face plate can be screwed firmly to the the wall mount bracket. . . . All went perfectly well for me.

Initially everything looks great with this 4 piece kit. The measurements given to cut the hole in the drywall are perfect. The black drywall mount fits and locks right into the hole. The issue is that white brush wall plate has different screw spacing than the black drywall mount does. Therefore, you are unable to secure the brush plate into the screw holes that are supplied on the drywall mount. Instead, you must either live with putting a single screw in the secure screw hole and then suffer knowing that your brush wall plate does not completely cover the black mount. Your second option is to run the screws securing the brush plate through the open holes above and below the supplied screw holes. This requires you to make more holes in the drywall or to force a screw through and into the drywall. This next issue is that the supplied brush plate screws are short and that when you do put longer screws through and into the drywall the brush plate is only loosely covering the black mount because the drywall alone is not good at supporting outlet screws without an anchor. This second option is the one I went with because aesthetically this is the better looking option. Further, I had longer outlet screws which I had previously purchased for a different project. This saved me a trip to the store.

I was considering purchasing expensive plates that had 2 HDMI cables and a usb cable. This setup was going to require 3 cables per jack in order to keep wires from being seen on the wall of our entertainment center. Then I found this pair of wall plates with brushes that allows me to only use a single long cable for each connection. I can also place additional cables besides 2 hdmi and 1 usb for my setup. To install I cut 2 small 1 inch by 2 inch rectangles into my drywall and used the included anchors for the screws to fasten the plate to the wall. This makes our wall look so clean with no wires from the tv to the cabinet.

Nothing much to say here other than this is as good as stuff you'd pay twice the price for. It's always hit and miss with these "cheap knock offs" but I figured this was going to be behind a wall mounted flat screen, so if it looked a little janky it wouldn't matter. You can't tel large difference between this and the brand name stuff I bought. Two of these with the low voltage bracket mounts included were cheaper than a single face plate at a big box store. Can't argue with that.

This item is exactly as described--very happy with it in general.One bit of info that I could not verify before the purchase is if this fits standard decora faceplates. I've got a an existing 2-gang installed plate where I want to put the bristles on one side. Turns out this unit fits just fine on other standard decora faceplates. Very happy!
