Grave Before Shave Cigar Blend Beard Butter

I just started my beard about 3 months ago. I'm 52 and have never grown a beard other than a goatee. I had no idea that there were beard care products at all so I'm just throwing that out there. I tend to go completely overboard with new products when I'm trying something new and this was no exception. I bought tons of different products for my beard and then started doing research into it. Should have been the other way around but I am who I am. This product kept popping up whenever I came to Amazon. To me, it was too expensive. Then I read some reviews and decided to give it a try and oh boy am I glad I did. Turns out I wasted a lot of money on cheaper products before I bought anything by GBS. Now I don't think I'll buy anything else. I got the cigar vanilla oil, butter and balm. The oil is the best I've used and a little really does go a long way. It brings my beard back to life after I wake up with bed beard. The butter is thicker than most balms I've tried. It melts easily in my hands and leaves no films or residue. The balm is also the best I've tried. It is solid in the can, melts easily and provides the best hold I've tried even after styling. So, a little pricey? Yep, but you get what you pay for. Their products are amazing. What's best about the cigar vanilla line though is the scent. I absolutely love the way this stuff smells. I could bathe it it! I love vanilla but I wasn't sure about how the cigar part would make it all work but let me tell you this stuff has an incredible scent. I use it every morning and honestly can't wait to put it on. Some reviews say the cigar part goes away quickly leaving the vanilla which would have been ok with me but I don't get that. The scent I put on stays in the same profile to me. I really love this product. All around, best I've tried.

I bought the 2 oz to give the scent Vanilla / Cigar a try. It's. very, very light on cigar if at all present. The butter or balm is similar to Fisticuff's mustache wax Lavender & Bay Rum scents are awesome - which I highly recommend - but its not wax. It does need to be slightly softened though. Unlike Honest Amish Beard Balm - does not hold my beard in place - which is quite moist, this is stiffer. I've gone through the gamut on what to use on my beard including Honest Amish Beard oil and Bluebeards Original Unscented Beard Saver the Beard Oil Alternative ( do not recommend that for any reason ). This is the one that seams to smell good, not overpowering but pleasant and is functional. It actually keeps my beard soft, not dripping wet (damp though) and keeps in place.The 2 oz aluminum tin does not close too well, but this 4 oz. screws on so its a no brainer.Again, if I have some trouble keeping beard hairs in place or I want it to look finished, I always use their mustache wax.Hope that helps.

Like some people have experienced, my product arrived with a grainy texture. I used it for a while, but it made me look like I had lice in my beard. I tried the microwave method (15 seconds on at 50% power), stir with a wooden stick, repeat 2 more times, stirring between heatings, then a fourth time for 10 seconds at 40% power. With the final stir, the butter was fully liquified and clear. I then replaced the cover and set the container in my freezer overnight. When I removed it the next morning and allowed it to gradually return to room temperature, the butter was nice and smooth and not grainy. My wife really likes the scent on my beard, and it lasts through most of the day. I also like how it moisturizes my beard. Best of all, "NO MORE BEARD NITS!" Yes, having to reheat the product to liquify it and return it to a smooth texture was a bit annoying, but the scent is unbeatable. If having to do a simple reheat gets your panties in a wad and you want to whine, you probably need to wear a skirt instead of a beard. You dig? I'd definitely recommend this beard product.

I've been using Grave Before Shave products since late 2015/early 2016 and have loved everything I've tried. I was excited when they started releasing the beard butter in their variety of scents. The two I looked forward to most were Bay Rum and this one.This stuff smells like vanilla black and milds to me. Tobacco, vanilla, maybe a little spice. Very warm. I pair it with Bath and Body Works Bourbon fragrance or Pre de Provence №63 and it just works. Keeps my beard soft and manageable at every length I've tried, from as short as you can go and still have a full beard to 1/3 of the way down my chest. Buy it!

Love GBS products. This order I tried the GBS Vanilla Cigar beard butter. When I first opened it, the consistency was really grainy. So I popped it in the microwave for 90 seconds to melt it, and then the freezer for a few hours. It now looks like butter instead of a grainy mess. The scent is great, but I get no cigar notes. Pure vanilla and cinnamon. As with all their butters I have tried, my beard soaks it right up! My beard is coarse and very dry due to working outside. If I happen to use too much product(more than a nickel size) it makes my beard really oily. So it a trial and error process as far as how much to use. Im gonna go out on a limb here and say this scent is my favorite. The scent seems, to me, to be much stronger than their other butter scents, and man does it last all day for me.If theres a con id say its consistency is spot on butter(again, if it comes in grainy pop it in microwave for 90 seconds and then straight to the freezer for a few hours), but extremely oily/greasy making it hard to judge how much product to use. I err on the side of caution and use it twice/day most days. When I am working outside long days in the sun or high winds I do use it 3x/day. Awesome stuff though, I love it!

I have been using the beard balm mainly, decided to try the butter. It was good, it came grainy would be my only complaint, I was able to get it less grainy by heating it up and stirring. Other than that great smell, and great conditioning on my beard and skin.

My first Beard Butter experience, and i'm sold. Amazing scent.

This beard butter is extremely concentrated, on my medium sized beard, a pea sized amount is more then enough. At this rate, it’s probably going take me close to a year to go through all of this product. The product was grainy, I put it in the microwave for 90 seconds, shook it up a bit, and put it in the freezer overnight, then let it sit at room, temperature throughout the day, and it was perfectly smooth and buttery. I find this product does the same thing to your beard as beard oil when you first put it on, but maintains the shape of your beard, and softness throughout the whole day. It has a sweet, rich vanilla with cinnamon smell to me, it does not smell like cigars at all. All in all, it’s an excellent product..

Been growing my beard out for about half a year now and can definitely say I will not look anywhere else. Not just their butter but their oils & balm are game changer for me. I don't usually leave reviews but this one deserves it.

This stuff is awesome smells great in my beard. great for those dry winter months.Will buy again!!!
