The adjustable mechanism of these is a silver metal arm extending out of the black plastic earcup support - NOT an adjustable headband as I wrongly thought - to be clear this is not a problem, just me wrongly understanding the operation so I'm hoping I can help someone else avoid the same problem. We needed a second set of ear defenders for fireworks night, and these looked similar to the first ones we had so I ordered them. With our original ones the 'adjustable' sizing comes from the head band section, which slips in and out, to either lengthen or shorten the overall diameter. As much as I tried I couldn't get this headband to lengthen for the entire of fireworks night but I was sure the listing said it was adjustable, so when I got home I checked. Yes, I was being dumb, so in case anyone reading makes the same mistake please check out my photo and it shows one extended side and one non extended side - hopefully this helps make it clearer..

Used these for a fireworks display on our 9 month old. They seem really tight or if the box but when you put them on yourself to test its actually fine. Gave him a couple of practices in the house and he didn't even try to remove them when we put them on for the event so they must be comfortable for him! He was completely expressionless during the fireworks so that's got to be a good thing. A friend has already borrowed them for their child too

Excellent ear defenders! Bought them for my 6 months old Godson - they definitely work, his silly parents were trying to attract his attention by calling him they got louder & louder - he couldn't hear a thing!

Bought these for my 2 year old so we could take him to watch some drag racing. I tried them myself first and they dulled the sound perfectly. He was happy to wear them which is a big thumbs up for me as I cant get him to wear a hat!

Not suitable for my 8mnth old as they were too tight. However, really well made product and customer service was spot on.

Bought this for a two year old who was getting distressed when there was a lot of loud noise around him. Worked really well, and he likes wearing them. He actually asks for them now when the noise is too much for him. Great purchase.
