Crucible Tongs 16'' Stainless Steel Professional Grade Crucible Kit Metal Refining Casting Tool with Heat Resistant Safety Melting Furnace Gloves

I planned on using these in my furnace. Grab the crucible (4 kg at the time), pour the crucible, stirrer, kinda an all-in-one tool. They worked better than expected in all the above. However, i did lose the grip fairly quick. The combination of high temp and heavy load didnt agree with the tip.I still use them regularly, regardless of the warped tip. The bent part still grips great for pouring. When i need to replace them, im 98% sure im going with this item again, unless i make my own.

Could be more sturdy. Hard to hold crucible with them. Dont trust the glove against heat!

Gloves are not long cuffed, heavy leather typical of metalworking gloves. They are much like what you can get in the gardening section of your local dollar store.Tongs won't last, but quality is in-line with most low priced tongs.Probably safer though to get higher quality gloves that will provide the proper protection for the intended task.If you're buying solely for the low price and prime shipping, you will probably be content.

they work well with holding small crucibles and some metal for forging.

I bought these as a gift for my son.

Tongs dont seem very sturdy, but most diappointing is the "heat resistant gloves" which are regular cow hide garden gloves. If you plan on melting and pouring metals these are not going to work well.

Pretty light-weight materials. Not sure how long they’re going to last. I’m shopping for heavier tongs next time.
