Wonderful Product!!
My insulated vest zipper gave up the ghost after owning it for many years. I thought I was gonna end up throwing it away. Found this product and thought I'd give it a try. Found several cheaper brands but for the most part, they had terrible reviews. Received it today. It took longer to get the old one off than it did to get the new one on. Just a couple minutes total time and my zipper works perfectly. This thing is quite a bit larger than the original but that's the nature of the beast since it's adjustable to allow it to be installed. Had no problems with the directions. Great value for the money since it saved me buying a new vest! Seems to be good quality and hopefully it will last a long time.

Saved Me A Potentially Expensive Zipper Replacement
I have owned my Green Bay Packers jacket for over 30 years. The zipper slider broke and I thought I would need to have the entire zipper replaced, which can run well over $50. I started researching different repair options and ran across the FixnZip Medium Black Nickel Zipper Repair Kit on Amazon. The good reviews outweighed the bad so I figured why not give it a try. It worked out great. The old zipper didn’t have any numbering so I measured the zipper according to the instructions on Amazon which worked out well. The width of my zipper teeth is approximately 7mm or .30 inches, the upper limit for a Medium FixnZip Repair Kit, which is the size I chose. The fix was fairly easy. The hardest part for me was spreading the broken zipper slider far enough apart to be able slide it off the top stop. I used a flat head screwdriver and placed the tip into the slider gap and gently pried it apart so as not to damage the zipper teeth. Once the broken zipper slide was removed, I attached the Medium FixnZip slider to the existing zipper and just like that I have an operational zipper again on my favorite cold weather jacket. The only downside is my jacket is reversible and this kit is for non-reversible jackets, but it’s not a big deal because I barely ever reversed my jacket anyway. The FixnZip slider works smoothly and flawlessly. It saved me a potentially expensive zipper replacement.

Excellent, High Quality, Little Product!! Very Easy to Install
Having already tried another zipper repair kit from Amazon that was a total disaster, I was reluctant to try another one. However, I really did not want to discard my costly, heavy duty. tactical packback just because a zipper for a side pocket had broke off. After a little more research on Amazon, I decided on the FixNZip even though it was pricey. But I figured that the higher price was becaue it's a metal zipper head instead of a plastic one. The fact that Amazon disclosed that it's a FREQUENTLY RETURNED ITEM did not inspire my confidence. However, detailed reading of many reviews gave me enough confidence to give it a try. I wasn't disappointed. The Fix-N-Aip zipper head is high quality and durable. The directions were easy to follow and straight-forward. My backpack side pocket zipper is the water-proof type. So and as per the directions, I needed to flip the zipper head upside-down before installing it. Apparently, I measured the zipper width correctly because the zipper sides slipped into the Zip-N-Fix zipper head and the zipper teeths engaged perfectly with little effort. I followed the direction to tighten the zipper head and seated the zipper head firmly at the bottom. It took two very short slides up and back to firmly seat the zipper sides inside the zipper head. Then and to my surprise, I was able to easily pull the zipper head all the way to the top of the pocket without any problems. I immediately repeated full open and close for a dozen times with no problems or failures!! The zipper did not split open when I pulled hard on the side of the pocket. Some of the reviewers noted that it doesn't last long. I hope mine will prove them wrong. If not, I will update my review accoudingly. Thank you Fix-N-Zip for extending the life of my tactical backpack!! I definitely recommed this product!

It works with my O'neill Wetsuit, but you have to pull the zipper very slowly or it gets screwed up
I've surfed a few times now with this replacement zipper and it's working great! The old zipper had been having issues, and it eventually pulled right off when it was stuck and I was trying to unzip it. The FixnZip arrived quickly, and it took a little fiddling with to figure out how properly attach it, but I had it working in about 10 minutes. The action felt a little stiff and it worried me, so I ordered "Gear Aid Zipper Wax Lubricant Stick for Wetsuits and Drysuits" and rubbed that on the zipper teeth, and that seemed to make the zipper a bit smoother. So now the zipper works better than it had in awhile with the old zipper. Oh, and a tip to move the zipper pull cord to your new zipper. Cut the old plastic zipper pull to remove the pull cord/string and put it on the new zipper (see instructions that show how to open it). UPDATE 1: Turned out I only got a few sessions with the FixnZip until I had problems. I wore my wetsuit surfing yesterday and didn't realize until I was paddling out that the zipper was entirely open, even though I had no issues zipping it closed. So before I went surfing today, I re-attached the FixnZip, made sure it moved up and down smoothly when I wasn't wearing it (I added more zipper lubricant, and also found I had to loosen the screw a little bit, or it got stuck), but then when I put on the suit to surf and pulled up be the zipper, it was entirely open again after pulling it up. The wetsuit isn't very tight or anything, so I don't know what to think at this point. I don't know why it worked a few times and then stopped working. UPDATE 2: My rating has gone from 5 stars, to 3 to 4. I decided to try the FixnZip on my wetsuit again, but now I'm super careful when I zip up my suit, which is a little difficult with a back zipper, but I basically just go as slowly as I can. So I've had 3 successful surfs now that I'm very careful while zipping up my suit. I also sent FixnZip an email asking if they had suggestions related to my issue and it's been a week and they haven't responded.

IT REALLY WORKS FINE!
This hardware is fantastic. I fixed my winter coat in two minutes. It’s that simple. I did however spend an hour understanding zipper sizes online. Large is not usually for clothing. Medium fits most winter coats. Small is a zipper on you pants. There are some jackets that use small. After striking out trying to diagnose my golf cart electrical breakdown, I felt really good fixing the zipper on my warmest coat.

One and done
My daughter broke the zipper on her backpack and it wouldn’t be a big deal if it wasn’t a customized one with her name on it. That said, I bought the FixNZip in Medium and OMG it fits perfectly and works great! I was worried by some of the reviews but took my chances anyway. Glad I did! It only took a minute to fasten. I will definitely purchase more when I find myself in need of another.

Nice design, slow customer support
Received it - looked very promising. Interesting design. Looks straight forward. But… I attached it fairly easily, but am having trouble with it once it zips halfway up. I’m guessing that there may be some hints and advice that would remedy this issue, so I called the customer service number. It went to a voicemail that said someone would call me back. That was 2 months ago - no call back. I was really hoping this zipper would fix my issue and I really wanted to like it. But for as much as it seems like this company really wants to portray itself as very customer friendly with excellent support, my experience is that there is no support. Overall: promising design = 4 stars; customer support = 0 stars 2 stars is all they get (and that’s giving them the benefit of the doubt that they have advice that will make the darn thing function). REVISED: I received helpful communications from the company and they were apologetic about the lapse in communication. Unfortunately, the product may not be suitable for the issue I was having. But it does seem well designed.

It DOES Work. Give Customer Service a Chance.
I bought the FixNZip multi-size pack because I needed to repair the zipper on a leather jacket in which I had the liner replaced. The furrier said that they would have to replace the entire zipper, which would have nearly doubled the cost (over $200, and I provided the material). Since only the slider was broken, I decided to try to find a way to repair it myself. I found the FixNZip on Amazon, and it seemed to be the best choice. I was disappointed to find that I could not get it to work, even after downloading the instructions AND watching the video. I started to pack it up for return, when I read a note affixed to the package asking that I contact them first before returning. I decided to give them a chance. I called the customer service number and left a message. Ray, the owner, got back to me in less than 15 minutes. At his request, I sent him some photos of the zipper. While I waited, I tried to install it once again, trying both the medium and large size. I got the large to work, but only the upper part of the zipper closed while the lower did not. Ray sent me a text suggesting that it needed lubrication, and included a list of recommendations. I tried candle wax, and after fiddling with the thumbscrew, I got it to work. His suggestion never would have occurred to me. I am very happy with a "new" zipper on my newly restored 25-year-old jacket. It is a little rough-working at first, but it seems to have smoothed out with use. I am sure the candle wax has been a factor. While the thumbscrew makes it a little bulkier than I would like, I appreciate having the ability to adjust the tension, something I will be doing a lot of in the near term. My only concern is that the zipper tab is not as robust as the original. Time will tell how durable it really is. Overall, I would recommend this product. And, please, take advantage of their customer service.
