Q: What happens if you reverse the connection, i.e., connect the positive clamp from the dbpower to the negative battery terminal?

The intelligent protection box on the cable will cut off circuit, stop output current.

Q: What’s inside the package ? do i have to buy ac/dc adapter separately ?

You will not have to buy a separate ac/dc adaptor. I attached a video showing everything it comes with. Hope it helps.

Q: Will this start a 3.6 liter engine

Well it was harsh David. Some of us are not mechanically inclined and don't know how to tell the size of an engine...i dont!

Q: how do you charge then battery?

With the charging cord that is included. But that cord needs to plug into a wall outlet charger that has a standard female USB-A port. DBPOWER does not include a wall charger with the jump starter, but most any cell phone wall charger plug will work. They typically output 5V of 1.0 amp power. However, I think the jump starter will recharge faster if you can plug the charging cord into a 2.0 amp USB wall charger. These are available on Amazon and in most stores that sell electronic gear.
