Perfect GM OE replacement
This switch controls more than I thought. By replacing it, not only do the fog lights work, but so does the cargo light and the third brake light. The yellow marker lights on the cab also come on with the fog lights. Very cool to see it working properly. Easy DIY to replace. It just clips in place under the main instrument panel trim.

Drop in replacement, easy to install
I purchased this for a 2005 Chevy 2500HD. The old switch failed because the fog lamp button wouldn't reset properly. I assume something happened inside with the spring mechanism. This switch fit perfectly and took me about 7 minutes to replace. Simply lower your steering wheel as far as it goes, turn the key without starting just enough to allow you to put the transmission in 1st gear (lowest handle position. Make sure you put the parking brake on) then take a small screw driver and pry off the plastic frame around the dash. Take note of where the clips are to make it easier when you replace it. Don't force it. Just work it easily and it will pop off. Now you have access to the switch. Use your small screw driver to pry the clips up on the top and bottom of the installed switch. You'll have to wiggle it a bit to get it out. There is a wire harness on the back of the switch. Pull it off by lifting the clip on the connector. Then just install your new switch and perform the steps in reverse. Very easy...I don't know the long term reliability of this switch, but it certainly went in easy and operates fine.

Perfect factory replacement gave my old truck new factory features without "rigging" an aftermarket switch.
Perfect! My 2004 Silverado 2500HD was already wired for factory fog lights. All I had to do was add this switch which plugged into the factory harness, a relay, and wire my fog-lights up to the weather-tight connectors that were already in place just above the front engine support. I added a diode between my high beam relay #85 terminal and the fog-light relay #85 terminal with the cathode end (the side with the stripe) towards the fog-light relay. This way my fog-lights come on with my high beams as well as having manual control when my lows are on. I sealed up the diode with heat-shrink tubing and all is good. If you do this, be aware that the fog-light relay mounts upside down from all the other relays so pay attention to the terminal numbers when installing it.
