WWVVPET Hedge Hunter Hori Hori Garden Knife+Diamond Sharpening Rod+Whetstone Heavy Duty Nylon Sheath with Belt Clip Saw Toothed Blade

I have not had a chance to use this Hedge Hunter Hori Hori Garden Knife as yet since it's still pretty early in the season and I haven't started working in my garden as yet. I will edit this review once I get a chance to put this knife to the test. The knife itself seems to be well made and has a good weight to it. The sheath is well constructed but don't know how well it will hold up from the constant removing/inserting of the blade...only time will tell. The only criticism I have with the sheath is that I wish it had a small opening at the bottom so that dirt and debris will not accumulate inside. There is a small pocket (Velcro closure) on the sheath for the whetstone but not for the sharpening rod (comes with a separate blue plastic case). Overall, I am pleased with the quality of this Hori Hori knife. I am very hard on my tools so I'm hoping this knife holds up! More to come as the season progresses : )**6/22/19 UPDATE! I've been using this Hori Hori knife in my garden and it's great. It has held up very well to my abuse and cleans up easily with the garden hose (I dry the blade before inserting back into the sheath). The sheath has held up to the inserting/removing of the knife. It is easy to put on my belt but after I start using the knife, it obviously gets very dirty from digging in the soil. I end up carrying the knife around, which is a little inconvenient since one of the main reasons I bought this particular knife was because it came with a sheath. It would have been nice if the sheath was designed so it could be opened somehow to clean the inside. The knife is sturdy, feels good in the hand, and can be used for a multitude of tasks in the garden. I love that it has a pointed tip and has the numbered/notched lines for measuring (comes in handing when planting bulbs). This knife is with me every time I garden, which is pretty much every day it is not raining. I still give it a 5 star review.

Weeding my overgrown garden was a chore I kept putting off, until now. This hori hori knife changed everything. It is easier to use than any other garden tool I have, and more effective. The soil here is thick, but it is no match for this knife. I have ruined shovels, bending them while trying to turn the soil over. This knife was better than a full sized shovel! I set out to weed a small bit of the garden with my new hori hori knife; I could not stop until I had done the whole garden. I stood up, knife in hand, and felt like a victor. Yeah! My Rambo moment. I got it to dig catholes while hiking (way too heavy, I know), then used it in my garden. I still plan to take it hiking, worth its weight. This thing is GREAT! They'll get my hori hori from me when they pry it from my cold, dead hand. I ordered another one as a gift. I should stop now.

The ad read Hori Hori Garden knife + diamond sharpening rod+ whetstone heavy duty nylon belt case. I received the Hori Hori and nylon case that does not hook to my belt . But I did not receive a diamond sharpening rod nor a whetstone. Had I received the other two items, it would have earned5 stars across the board.

I bought this knife sort of on a whim - I have not had the best of luck with many 'garden' tools in the past. They seem to be made for potted plants and such; not real good for actual gardening! This one looked substantial from the pictures and the product information and the price seemed reasonable so I thought I'd try it. I am so glad I did! It is one tough, solid, super-performer! It came in the mail the same day my husband bought me a new garden tool set from a local store. I seized the opportunity to do my own garden test and within 10 minutes, the first local tool was broken. I have used this knife ever since. And as a side note - it kills spiders!

The media could not be loaded.  This is one of the products I can write a very enthusiastic review about because it is so well designed. - It is durable, the wooden handle feels nice in the hand, the measuring scale on the blade is super-handy not only for precision gardening tasks, it is bloody sharp and if it might become dull - I have a small sharpening stone right at hand. The sheath is rugged and very easy to clip on any belt, loop or pocket-like opening. Its main purpose might be for gardening, but I am sure it will be a valued item in my camping gear, too!

I really like this tool. I used it this past weekend to dig weeds and to prepare holes for planting it worked like a charm. The Hori Hori seems to be well constructed and I really like that it is a full tang knife - it should be very durable and I am not gentle with my outdoor tools. The wood handle is a nice bonus and feels good in my hand. I also like that the sharpening stone is included, this is very useful especially when working in the gardenI can put a quick edge when needed to use it as a cutting tool. Shipping was very quick. I would use Lonesome Pine again. Thank you.

My Hori Hori knife came with the diamond sharpening stone. It only took me a minute to put a really nice edge on the garden knife. This knife can cut thru big roots, little roots, and hard clay soil. I especially like the inch marks on the blade for measuring planting depth. The marks are deep, so they won't wear out. A friend of mine is a professional landscaper. He has had his Hori Hori knife for over 10 years. It is his go-to tool for planting. After using his knife, I new I needed one too.

My problem with this item is the price point and the sheath. This is virtually the same garden knife as the Truly Garden knife, I have both and it looks like the same manufacturer, with different stamps, but the Truly Garden knife is $10 dollars less. Metal detecting, I take the knife in out our of the sheath a lot, and the sharp edge has already sliced the nylon, plus the handle snaps prevent the knife from going in and out with ease. the leather sheath does not have either problem. I do grant I like the belt clip better.With that said, for metal detecting or gardening the knife itself is great, I just don't like paying $10 more for the same thing.
