Great product!
So initially I wasn’t going to purchase this because of the bad reviews. However I decided to take a chance and I’m glad I did. We just purchased a home and we needed some light remodeling done prior to our move in. The carpets had recently been replaced and were in good shape so we wanted to protect it. We ordered two rolls, we have a 2,000 sq. ft townhome. My fiancé and I covered the flooring and crossed our fingers. We had 5-6 different contractors coming in and out of the home over the course of 60 days (hauling out appliances, removing cabinets, toilets, etc.) When we returned to the home and looked at the covering you could tell it had been through hell and back. But when we removed the plastic sheathing the carpet was pristine! We were blown away.If you plan to order this, a few things you need to know:1. You MUST have a second person to use this product. You CANNOT do this alone, you will fail Person #1 needs to hold the roll nice and sturdy. Person #2 pulls the plastic from the roll.2. You CANNOT be in a rush, if you do it’s going to fold in on itself and you will need to create a “lip” to get it going again. Take your time!3. DO NOT USE THIS ON HARDWOOD FLOORING!!! The adhesive is very strong and will leave traces on the flooring.4. Lay the product in straight lines, do not try to curve or go around corners.Again don’t believe the negative reviews this product is top notch!

It's sticky (that's good!)
Used the product to protect some new white stair carpet while moving in. A bit tricky to install until you figure out a technique. Can be done by one person, but much easier with 2. Start at the bottom, have the other person hold the roll and unroll product as they back up the stair. First person starts at the bottom and pressed the film to the carpet as they work their way up the stair. While doing that, the other person unrolls additional material. Works great.

Too hard to handle!
This was horrible! It was difficult to unwind, even though it was a reverse roll and should have gone down easily. It would repeatedly split and I would lose half the width because I had to unwind the split portion until it came together again, which meant it was useless and ended up in the trash. It took over an hour to cover the carpet between the doors and window seats (less than 10') in two small bedrooms. I would have been better off getting a cheap version at Home Depot. Instead, I bought this item based on the description since I knew I would need it in the future as I continue renovations. I spent $48.95 for this item only to box it back up and get ready to throw it in the trash.

I didnt believe it, but it's tough to work with. Very sticky!
To lay it straight, like in a long hallway, is not too difficult; you kneel on it and roll it out by hand. BUT, if you have to do a short piece, a small section, or a tight section, watch out. It sticks to itself like crazy, and very hard to work with. Two people would be better as one could hold the roll and the other could dispense it carefully. Its reasonable for carpet, but when you pull it up, it DOES pull upward on the carpet. I would definitely not use it over a fold-n-tuck carpet transition of any type or you'll yank up the carpet. For these types of areas, I used non-adhesive plastic held down by painter's tape. Frankly, non-adhesive plastic with painters tape is good for any low-traffic job; only if it is high traffic would I even consider this sticky adhesive roll. It is almost unnecessarily sticky. I removed mine from the carpet after one week but wouldn't suggest leaving it on longer, and in fact, if you get hot sunlight onto this thing, I can imagine it would stick to your carpet ferociously, beware. The product was delivered well from Amazon. Do not leave it rolled up in heat in your vehicle or sun room.

A mixed review
Putting this product in place is a two person job, and even then it's touch and go. The thing it adheres to best is itself. If you're trying to save your carpet it functions as expected. I wanted to use it to avoid the cleanup of my (older) dog urinating on my rug. The advantage is that since it adheres to the rug it does allow a cleanup without the unwanted liquid running under the plastic as happens with plastic protectors that do not adhere. However, it does not seem to be especially sturdy and does start to unstick (I know that's not a word) from the carpet around the edges.

Great carpet protection especially for stairs.
This product clings very well to carpet and to itself. Getting it started can be a pain, but this has been my go to type of protection when doing remodels in homes with carpets. I use it the most when I am protecting carpeted stairs. It is very hard to get any protection to stay in place on stair steps. This stuff will do the trick. When you are done, it is very easy to remove. a great product I will use again.

Great as a throw rug protector
Hi initially bought this to protect my zebra rug that is on hardwood floor. However, I wish I would’ve purchased this years ago because I have a couple of dogs and although my dogs are housebroken they still shed. It’s so much easier to just swiffer over this plastic after, the brand new rug has been covered in protective film. Totally worth the money. And if you’re using it for construction purposes, it is durable to save the carpet if you have traffic On the carpet.
