Works against "Wire Grass"!
This stuff really works on what is called "wire grass" here in NC (I still don't know what the proper term is - but its been almost impossible to get rid of). Before Ornamec "Over the Top", we tried every herbicide out there, dug the things out of the ground, burned them - whatever we could think of. And the stuff would come back with a vengeance within a few months. It gets into everything - garden spots, crowds out even the crabgrass, grows and spreads on gravel driveways, even invades my raspberry patch. If there's sun and soil, it will grow - and it spreads by root, seed, and by the nodes on the stems. Ornamec has made a HUGE dent in it for us. It's works systemically, so it kills the roots as well. And a bonus is it knocks out the crabgrass along with the wire grass. While it appears a bit pricey, you only need to use 1 ounce per gallon of water (along with a surfactant) - its actually cheaper than a lot of herbicides, ounce per ounce. We've started a dedicated campaign in ridding our 1+ acre of this scourge - and we're winning! We've sprayed this past spring and will spray again in the fall. Be a little patient; it will take a week or two for you to see the difference in the Bermuda-type grasses in your lawn, but soon you'll see them yellowing. Next spring we will spray again and then will follow up with targeted spraying as we see it pop up. We're so pleased with this!

Works to kill goosegrass in fescue
Yes, this product works as advertised. To reiterate what others have said here, repeatedly, you have to follow the directions. Yes, the directions can be confusing, but here's what I did and why:My lawn of dwarf tall fescue was invaded this year by goosegrass. By the time I realized what ewas happening, it was too late to do much except hope the fescue won the battle. It didn't. In fact, as the summer went on, the goosegrass gained ground and the lawn went from looking reasonably good to being a weed-infested mess. I contacted the folks who created my grass seed and they gave their opinion on the weed in question and a way to eradicate it without killing the fescue. Ornamec is the consumer version of that herbicide so I researched it and ultimately bought it from Amazon. I immediately mowed the weeds and prepped the solution to be applied by a small 1 gallon hand-pumped sprayer I've used for many other applications over the years. I chose a concentration of 1.5 oz Ornamec along with about 0.3 oz of the surfactant in one gallon of water. I ended up making this solution 5 times to cover the entire area I needed to treat. I waited. Nothing happened for the first several days - and then I left for 8 days. Upon arriving back home I was amazed - the grass was still mostly green and the goosegrass was a dark red. And importantly, the goosegrass had no stems with seeds growing as they had been. I even asked my son who had mowed the grass because nothing had seemingly grown in the two weeks since I had last mowed. His answer was that no one had mowed (which was one of the reasons for seeding with this dwarf tall fescue in the first place)! So while it's still early days with this product, all signs point to success. I will likely treat once more either later this fall or early in the spring to ensure the goosegrass doesn't come back. It will be great to get my lawn back next year.Update: I did treat one more time that year and the goosegrass did not come back. I have a few small pockets of Bermuda that came from who knows where that also "died" at the time. This year the Bermuda is back in those areas so I need to treat again, but after it cools down some I guess. Importantly, though, no return of the goosegrass like a few years ago.

Kills Bermuda in Zoysia, but tough on Zoysia, too.
I purchased Ornamec OTT because I had Bermuda running wild in my Zoysia. I used the spot spray instructions and it clearly worked in killing the bermuda. However, as noted in the instructions, it will brown the zoysia, too. I’ve spot sprayed twice now and everywhere I had Bermuda was turned to dirt and the zoysia effectively died but grew back in fine. I still have spots the zoysia is struggling in but showing signs of life 2-3 months later. I’ll probably go for one more spray at half the concentration that it says in the instructions to see if that allows the zoysia to hang in there. Overall, it does exactly what it says.. kills the Bermuda while not killing the zoysia. But you’re going to have some brown spots if the Bermuda is thick. I had to do it or else the Bermuda would have taken over. Next summer my lawn will be in much better shape.

I have lilac bushes that were being taken over with bermuda grass. This product killed the bermuda grass without any damage to the lilacs. Would definitely recommend!!

Pro - didn't kill my azaleas. Con - didn't kill the grass in my azaleas.
This is an extremely specific product as to the types of grasses and weeds it will kill. If you have a wide variety of grasses and weeds in your beds you may find that it doesn't kill broadly enough.

WORKS
Bermuda grass is sent be the devil to torment gardeners, and I thought all hope was lost. Despite all my efforts (digging 24" down, smothering for a year with black plastic), nothing eradicated this persistent pest. I was without hope. Then came Ornamec! I did not hold out "much" hope, as I truly believed Bermuda grass was immortal. Behold! The grass started dying! I have applied it 3 times in late summer/early fall now, about 2-3 weeks apart. Some of the runners still have some green on them, but overall I believe we might be winning the battle. At least I can keep it at bay from running over from my neighbor's property. We will see what happens next Spring.
