Good quality, easy to learn
This was easy to learn & once I got the hang of it I found it very relaxing. Put aside perfectionism: the finished towel will look lovely even if your stitches are not all the same. The kit comes with plenty of thread and the various needles and thimbles allow you to try different ways to work so you can make mistakes without worrying you won't have enough thread to finish. I like the leather thimble, yes it is tight and made my finger sore at first but soon stretched to fit quite well. I love the needles! They glide through the cloth with ease. I've tried other needles but none are as nice to use. Once finished I use the towels to wash dishes, clean counter & table and so far they have held up well, plus they dry quickly. At first I thought the price might be a bit high but all of the contents are of excellent quality and will last a good long time.

Great Way to Start out with Sashiko
I just received this kit and I have to say that while "MtnMona" definitely has the right to their point of view, some of the points are in my humble opinion greatly exaggerated.Sashiko needles come in different needle length options and serve different purposes. Short needles are the easiest to control, so for a complete beginner, these are perfect. Shorter needless are also great for stitching along curved lines. Long needles are better for stitching straight lines. With regards to the thimbles - they are not "toys" and very sturdy. Where MtnMona says, "The one tin one, looks to be adjustable but I am afraid if I try to open it will break" . . . . . it is adjustable and it is sturdy and does not open easily. This kit is perfect for someone who doesn't want to spend a lot of money to see if they like this art form. And no I do not work for the individual selling this kit.

Good Intro to the craft
I wanted to learn sashiko and this is a good kit to introduce myself to it. Very easy to follow instructions. The only downside is the needles are not sharp. So hard to pierce through the cloth repeatedly.

very fun
I really enjoyed this craft. I wish the fabric had been a bit thicker, but the finished product still looked very good.

Fun kit, low quality
The cotton and thread quality is poor, but is a fun kit.
