Reclaimed Barnwood Planter Box Mini Herb Garden Kit - Grow Cooking Herbs from Seed: Basil, Dill, Thyme, Parsley, Oregano, Cilantro

I used this outside on my balcony. The wood does not seem to have been treated and quickly weathered after only one season. I was not able to use this beyond one summer.The overall quality of the build was shocking to me and not reflective of the price. For less than half, probably a quarter of the price, you could have any lumber store cut the dimensions you'd like for under $10 and buy similar metal joint braces for another $5 or less. Total construction time would take maybe 10 minutes.I ended up trading up from this to an AeroGarden Harvest and have been much happier with the results of having fresh herbs and vegetables readily available all year.

This product is everything I expected; I read the dimensions and based on the picture I didn't expect this item to be overly large like some of the reviews I've seen. I think it is a perfect size for planting herbs in your kitchen window, which is it's intended purpose.Another reason I am giving this product such a good review, is because of the customer service I have received. When this package arrived, it was very well packaged and wasn't dirty at all, but it was missing the seed packets that states it comes with. So I contacted the seller and they were very helpful and sent me out seeds that day with a little extra. Which is awesome because being a consumer I understand that there will be mistakes and packaging errors, but it's how the company handles it that I judge.

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my mother who likes gardening, but lives in Ohio so is unable to enjoy fresh herbs during wintertime. This is a really cool idea and the box itself is very rustic. My only complaint is that the dirt circles were not packaged separately, so during the shipping process little pieces of dirt broke off and got the seed package and laminated instructions all dirty. If you aren't giving this as a gift then it really doesn't matter but since I was giving it as a gift, I had to clean everything off. It is the perfect size for a kitchen window.

When my planter first arrived we were very excited about planting our garden. The instructions are very well written out and the entire product was very easy to use and beautifully packaged with everything you need.The planter is cute but it really is recycled wood and can from something really old. It is also to small to support full size planter so you will have to transfer the seedlings if you want them to have enough space.My problem with the product is I can't understand why it costs so much. You are much better off going to your local nursery and get your supplies there. For the same amount of money you can get a nicer larger planter and a larger variety of seeds.If it were 20$, I would say it's a fun project for the kids. If you plan on growing anything you want to cook with, skip this product and go to you nearest nursery.

I love this thing. Got it as a gift for my wife. Perfect size and looks very nice. 4 stars because the metal corners have rusted slightly (we keep it outside). It looks nice for outside and matches the rustic feel, but I was considering putting it inside for the winter and now it's a bit too rustic if you know what I mean :)

You sort of make your own soil with this kit using the disks pictured. I've had a little trouble getting things started with the included seeds, especially because mold in the soil has been an issue, but that probably isn't the fault of the kit. The planter itself is a good size for a small space, and there is a nice laminated instruction card with it. You get lots of seeds and lots of soil.

I enjoy the planter box. The seeds that I did plant began growing quickly. One issue I have is that the soil provided seems to be a lower quality soil/ breeding ground for gnats. Other than the 10-20 gnats I have seen in the two weeks I have had it up, I enjoy the look of the box and the quality of the seeds.

really enjoyed planting our own herbs. Some of the screws fastening the bottom to the sides never made contact to both of the boards.I was a little less than impressed with the construction of the box.
