Tropical Garden Design Paperback – February 16, 2011

This is the book that you will pick up and read over and over again as it inspires you to turn your own place into a tropical paradise. This is one of my very favorites in my personal library and I just wish there were more like it. Not a "how to" but a wonderful book for daydreams. A combination of good writing and gorgeous photographs...always a winner!

Beautiful book, I wish there was a full chapter on the temples of Bali, otherwise I found it very interesting and of course artistic. Daunn Munn.

Made's book is just wonderful. I know people who have employed him over the past 27 years and have been trying to buy his books for ages.I was enthralled with the photos and plants.

Visually inspiring book, great inspiration if you live in the Tropics as I do. Nice to dream about if you dont.

I agree with some other reviewers that this is a book for day dreamers. It does not claim to be a guide to tropical garden design and it certainly is not in that category. It is a nice book with many nice early morning photographs of selected beautiful tropical gardens, mostly in Bali. It is a sharing of Michael White's philosophy of garden design oriented around controlled jungles (with high labor input in maintenance) rather than on "how to do it".It is also a fitting reminder and proof that one does not need a university degree to be successful at one's chosen profession.

Love this book - lovely pics! Mostly non-American locations - had hoped to see a few US gardens! A lot of Bali, etc.

Genauso, wie ich es mir vorgestellt hab. Wer einmal Mades Gärten in Natura gesehen hat, weiß, was ich meine. Weckt viele sehnduchtsvolle Erinnerungen!

我が家はジメジメしている所がある庭なのでとっても参考になりました。すでにある植物も沢山掲載されていました。南国の花、というより緑の葉物が多く掲載されています。あ〜バリとか行きたいな〜とか、家の庭ジメジメしてて何したらいいか分からないよ。みたいな時に引き出すといい一冊です。☆をひとつ減らしたのは同じような写真が多め???と思ったので。。。
