NHLUS Military Army Thermal Pro Gen III 3 Cold Weather Fleece Jacket

I've been in the military long enough to have worn the old school M-65 field jacket. I still have several and I wear them when it's cold out . A while back the military adopted the Gen III ECWCS to replace the field jacket. The PolarTec Thermal Pro Gen III 3 Cold Weather Fleece is the foundation of this system. I purchased it for this purpose and wear primarily over my ACU uniform and civilian clothes. Pros: It's lightweight, well made, has Velcro to affix name tapes and rank insignia and will keep you warm even when it's damp or even wet. Cons: It's not windproof and the fleece is a bit thin. I wish it had zippers on the inner and outer pockets and a draw string around the bottom to keep in the heat. Regardless for the money it's an excellent product and meets U.S. Army uniform standards.

Jacket was as described

I don't think it will keep it warm.thickness and thin as it is. The place where I live is considered cold. (average -10 nights / 0 days) .Measures proper temperature protection seems poor.

I dislike a cold neck, so I have some very warm scarves. This jackets high neck is wonderful. It’s comfortable and tucks right under the chin. The weather has been in the upper 30’s. Still no need for scarf with this jacket. This week we are expecting lots of snow. We’ll see.

Military approved extreme cold weather but use with parka

This is not "Polartec" and not 300 weight. It does appear to be military item, but is lightweight. This jacket will work as a layer and will use on warmer days.

Exact CIF issue item, came with appropriate tags and labeling.
