Best you can buy
This is perfect for blue birds. We have two other ones that have lasted for 15 years. We have baby blue birds in them every spring. Easy to clean. Long-lasting.

Birds love it!
I bought one of these to place on my deck, where it was quickly found by a pair of gray birds that were ready to nest. Can't remember if they were titmice or nuthatches. It was such a pleasure to watch them come and go, first building their nest in the box, then making the frequent trips to feed their nestlings. I was sad to miss fleding day but pleased to see a pair of wrens move in the next week. Now a pair of bluebirds are checking it out. The nesting box is easy to clean and well designed. It brought me so much pleasure, I've bought two more for gifts. I dolled them up by slapping a little blue paint on the roof and glueing on a sprig of weather-proof flowers to the front - very cute.

Top notch
Very well made. We have purchased these previously, for wrens, bluebirds. The birds really use them.

I expected better
I guess because this has the endorsement of Audubon, I expected better quality. The door is misaligned so it hangs at a slight angle keeping the latch from working properly. There’s a gap in the bottom where they cut the wooden piece too short. And they didn’t leave enough wood at the top to easily drill the screws. Just poor QC. Hopefully he bluebirds won’t mind.

Quality made, easy to clean
We replaced one of our very old, very tattered, blue bird houses with this one, but our blue birds insisted on using the *other* one we had, has been up for three season (they never used it, I guess they prefer the older, weathered ones). So, finally they used *that* one. A chipping sparrow took up residence in this new one pretty much right away. After they were through nesting, we cleaned it out and within a few weeks, the blue birds were nesting for the second time, but in THIS house! We're thrilled they like both houses, but this one is far easier to clean than our other one, super sturdy and it was easy to hang on our post. Hasn't gone through a New England winter, but it seems well made and it should last many years!

Blue birds nesting
Within one hour after placing this house on a metal pole following the placement directions I had a pair of bluebirds preparing the nest inside. Had been trying for years without luck until this house was used

Attracts murderous sparrows!
We have tons of bluebirds in our yard but we also have a ton of sparrows. Unfortunately, a terrorizing sparrow laid claim to this bluebird box first. The wicked sparrow seems uninterested in actually nesting in the box and is merely interested in killing any bird that tries to go inside. After he sacrificed our beautiful downy woodpecker, I’ve had to evict him and take the box down. I’ve since learned this is what sparrows do and they are known to kill bluebirds nesting in bluebird boxes. I really wish I had known this about sparrows when I put it up—I would never have bought it in the first place and taken such a risk. If you have a lot of sparrows in your yard, please learn from my mistake and DO NOT put up a bluebird house!!

It will hold up for a long time.
Had to replace my old Bluebird house due to weather wear and tear. I have it mounted on a metal pole, though. No hardware comes with it for that.

Chickadee Approved
This is a great bird house for the little guys. Right now as of this writing a couple of Chickadees have taken up residence. It was up for about a month before anybody moved it, but perhaps I put it up too early in early March on the West coast. It is well built and and easy to put up. My only complaint, and it is a small one, are the Phillips screws which strip easy so I used Robertson wood ones. No Problem. It is attached to a very large spruce and about 2.5 meters off the ground. I gave the birds a perch with a piece of doweling( made it rough with a file ) as it does not come with one and they seem to like that from time to time.

You get what you pay for
Bought this item at half price. I own a similar birdhouse but from a different brand which worked out well and chickadees made it their home last spring. For this product, right off the box you can see that it was hastily built. There are a lot of gaps everywhere and the birdhouse is uneven. Poor craftsmanship but you get what you pay for. Even opening the birdhouse door, it barely opens because it’s crooked and the two screws holding the door weren’t evenly screwed in. Hope this birdhouse is good enough for my birds next spring!
