THE choice!
Outstanding product. Definitely THE choice for coating water features. When prepared per instructions under reasonably ideal conditions, success is assured. I researched virtually every company and supplier in the country that manufactures and/or distributes coatings for under water uses. Many, by their own admission, fall short. So glad my almost year long research paid off. This is an extremely nice company to speak with for questions and advice!

Perfect solution for a concrete pond.
I have an old concrete pond and waterfall in my backyard. I had drained it and stopped using it because the concrete had small cracks and it leaked so badly. A membrane style liner isn't practical due to the shape of the waterfall. I was about to have it demolished....then I discovered Pond Shield, which came highly recommended online. Three packages did my entire pond/waterfall. See the product description for coverage recommendations. It's been almost a year, and there is zero leakage, and my waterfall runs 24/7/365. Pond Shield is a two part epoxy that you mix and apply. Clean the substrate thoroughly, and use an etching acid if the surface is smooth. Then mix it up according to the instructions and apply with a disposable brush or small roller. The one caveat is to mix up small batches....no more than you can apply in about 5-7 minutes. It begins to harden quite quickly. If you mix up too much at one time, it forms a skin, gets clumpy, and cannot be used. And it gets extremely hot if it sits for long. Ask me how I know! The instructions warned of this....and I quickly learned to follow them. Do so, and all will be well. I'd mix up a cup or so at a time until you get a feel for it. Wear thick rubber gloves, eye protection, and old disposable clothes. Pond shield comes in a variety of colors. I chose gray as it compliments the natural stone of my pond. This is a fantastic product, and I strongly recommend it.

Excellent product
It was hard to open the cans. But once opened the mixing and installation was easy. You need a stiff brush to apply. It dries very quick. In about 20-30 minutes. I waited 24 hours before adding water and fish. Non toxic and an excellent product. Wish I found it earlier. Would save me Time waiting for concrete to cure. It feels like a rubber coating. It’s a grayish blue light color. Works well.

Very good product but challenging to apply
I used this product to line the interior of a chest freezer I use as an ice bath. The interior was starting to rust in spots and the rubber liners I used previously leaked several times so starting looking for a product I could apply and someone recommended this one. I learned a lot from the first batch I mixed and applied. First, it is MUCH easier to work with if you thin with denatured alcohol. I mixed up a full batch (1 can of each) and it started setting up before I could get it all applied. On the second batch, I used the denatured alcohol and it made a big difference in workability of the product and the second coat went on much easier. Make sure your surface prep is done properly or the results will likely not be as you expect. I spent far more time prepping the surface than it took to apply 2 coats. Plan on applying 2 coats. Pros: -because it's rolled on, can be used on any shaped surface -elastic and does not seem like it will crack -the final product looks great when cured Cons: -Difficult to apply. Use a roller designed for adhesive and epoxy -Messy and difficult to clean up. Plan on throwing away whatever you use to mix the product. -Strong odor and lingers long after the product is cured. This product is exactly what I needed and hopefully will provide a long-lasting solution. For prospective buyers, study the tips left by reviewers on how to mix and apply this product as it is challenging to work with, but will provide a durable, high-quality coating.

Seems to be a quality product.
Used this epoxy paint on a concrete fountain basin that is 20 years old. I followed the instructions and used muriatic acid to etch the inner surface before applying the epoxy, which is rather thick (did not thin).Brush application required care to ensure coverage. Epoxy dried within 1/2 hour. The grey color works well with the concrete.

Work FAST!
Hate to right a negative review but at the price of this stuff a few warnings: They neglect to tell you -you will need 1\4 cup denatured alcohol to mix. (isopropal will work and you are gonna need it for any cleanup). Next - they do warn to start with smallest mixture. Not kidding. Mixed a total of 3 cups. seemed a little thin at first. but it will start to set in about 15 minutes and then turns to a total unusable rubber in a matter of seconds. Lost about a cup worth on my first try. Will destroy your brush so just use cheap disposable ones. will need one brush per coat! but the brush stokes will level out. even pour on a bit and spread out. Work fast! Sets but does not DRY fast. A one quart painters cup with disposable liners works great. First coat did have a lot of small bubbles as it dried. May have been reaction with previous lining. Will have to see about the durability.

worked great on a basement concrete shower base
I needed something to paint my concrete shower base with...and after considering and researching many other products, I went with this vs an epoxy garage floor paint, glad I did. I grinded the base vs etching because I had to get the old paint and sealant off (that was messy; I suggest etching which is pretty easy!). Product mixed up just fine. I used denatured alcohol in my mix; read the instruction thoroughly and get your measurements correct. Paint time was about 30 minutes before set up. I put on two coats, 4 hours apart. My only grief is based on my side, and not knowing the product well enough. I wish I would have put a thicker second coat on and there are some "uneven" parts of the base but you can't really see it...I might 60 grit sand the base and put on a third "more even" coat BUT it's working great..so maybe not :) Well see how this last but so far, it's been great. The water rolls right off of it and I gently squeegee the rest. Also, really appreciate the non-toxic, non smelly nature (although I still wore and recommend you wear a respirator). Great product.

Good product with fairly good instructions.
Used to seal a 20 year old pond that had small crack(s) in upper half of pond (leaking). The pond was made of light weight concrete or shotcrete and appeared to only have been “waterproofed” with concrete sealant in the past. Pressure washed, scrubbed and cleaned with a mild bleach solution, then let completely dry for a couple days. Mixed and applied one coat. Waited about 1-2 hours then applied second coat. Second coat was obviously easier than first. Checked for missed spots and found none. Set up in 24 hours, then filled and is holding water great and looks much better than before application. Read instructions and follow directions based on material type you are trying to seal.
