Final Fantasy X Official Strategy Guide (Brady Games Signature Series) Paperback – January 1, 2002

Normally I am not one to BUY walkthrough or strategy guides but I noticed that this particular game is VERY complex and most information I found on-line just didn't seem to cut it. I was skeptical about buying this guide, but I read the more than stellar reviews on it, and I decided to get it when it went on sale.BOY! I sure didn't regret my purchase! This is clearly one of the best reference guides I have bought in years! Simply put, the book is beautiful. The colors chosen, the map drawings, and the amazing attention to detail cannot be understated. I would have easily paid double what I paid and still I would be satisfied with my purchase.While I thought this book is a walkthrough and left it at that, I found out that is it's much more. First of all, the book is divided into sections. The walkthrough is actually one section of the book with all key locations are given as well as where all the secret treasures lie. There is also a section describing each of the characters in your party as well as detailed information on the summonable Aeons.But where this book also shines is that it also gives you a wealth of information that is difficult to find.All the beasts and foes are given their own section and their strengths and weaknesses are all given in addition to their hitpoints and other vital information.Another thing that always bewildered me with Final Fantasy X is the whole meaning and gameplay behind Blitzball. Not only does the guide explain it very well it also gives you information (again) you just can't find elsewhere. I always wondered why my Blitzball team was always losing, but then I found out that you can HIRE Blitzball players and they can be pretty much scattered about Spira. All of the capabilities of all the hirable players are given in addition to 'regular' players.Finally, the book gives you a fold out that illustrates the entire sphere grid. There is a whole section in the book that explains the sphere grid and then gives suggestions on paths you can take each character.Because the book is laid out in sections, you pretty much can look information up on Blitzball players, Weapons, and Beasts without giving away anything 'secret' (there is a whole section on that topic too).The Walkthrough section is divided into a couple sections as well. One is the main or core walkthrough, then there is the walkthrough to access sidequests and also secret items.Given the scope of Final Fantasy X AND the detail given to the creation of this book, I feel that you cannot have one without the other. Ok, if you have LOADS of time to figure out every element of the game yourself, then perhaps you can 'wing it'. But for me, I see the Final Fantasy X Official Strategy Guide an extention of the game manual and instructions.Simply put...it is a must get. You will not regret it.

Had to get it just to have it. Maybe I'll use it maybe I won't. Something I'll keep forever.

I loved this game so I naturally wanted to know all the secrets and achievements. This guide definitely covers anything and everything. For as long as I play this game I will refer to this guide!

Got this book and on the front cover the book had some folds and on some of the pages too but everything was there for me to use with ffx game really happy with it just wish it wasn't so folded as much as it was

It's been a long time since I could find my guide and I'm now playing the FFX/X-2 Remaster with my (adult) kid.The Final Fantasy X Official Strategy Guide (Brady Games Signature Series) from HalfPriceBooks came in amazing condition, even has Rikku's Mix poster in excellent condition!I've already purchased the X-2 guide.Thanks guys!

Like a lot of the other reviews say, this actually ENHANCES the game! I always talk about how strategy guides can ruin the fun of figuring out the game for yourself, but in this case, the guide actually makes it more fun to play. I do not follow the battle plans, I upgrade my character as I see fit, and that is the large majority of the fun, but when it comes to finding a thing so hidden and time consuming, that would actually frustrate you and likely make things more difficult, I love to use the Guide! Very well written and easy to follow. I purchased the game again recently after not playing it for over 10 years and I knew I had to get this guide because I had it back then, and remember how much more fun I had using it. It is well worth the money and if you are a fan of FF, you should give this a try!

I'm a 55yr old women who has played video games since I was 15? It started with the COLECOVISION and I was hooked! I'm so glad I got this FFX official strategy guide book! I started the game over because I had missed so many key items. Now I'm getting ready to fight SIN, but i still have a few things to do before this fight. also with this guide, I have all AL BHED PRIMER volume's 1~26 or should i say, I~~XXVI. Before i got this guide, I was missing 15 of them, and was in the process of backtracking to find them. Again the guide helps so much, but I'm still struggling with sphere grid, I'ved seen videos on youtube and the characters are at 9,999 HP! and I figure it must be in the grid process? Anyways, you can see how much I love this game!

My other half loved it. He has been looking for this book for years. He said it has a few minor things, but for a used copy, it's in excellent condition. Thank you again

ＦＦⅩのインターナショナル版は字幕、メニューバー含め、すべて英語にできるので、まずは攻略本を買って英語を勉強することにしました。日本語でのゲーム用語と英語でのゲーム用語に違いがあってなかなかおもしろいです。攻略本としての評価ですが、日本の分厚い攻略本と比べたら情報量が少ないです（厚さは１cmくらい）。ただ、マップやモンスターなど、基本的な内容は十分含まれているので攻略するにあたっては苦ではないと思います。

Zusammenfassend ein gelungenes Lösungsbuch, allerdings kann es dem von Piggyback nicht das Wasser reichen.Plus:- Ein sehr ansprechendes Layout und sehr gute Papierqualität- Lässt sich durch die doppelten Zeilenabstände und etwas größerer Schriftart sehr gut lesen (im Vergleich zu Piggyback)Minus:- Die Kapitel sind nicht sehr übersichtlich gestaltet: Am Anfang eines jeden Kapitels gibt es Karten mit Itempositionen. Allerdings werden immer nur jeweils die Hälfte eingezeichnet, die andere Hälfte umständlich im Lösungsweg beschrieben. Warum ist mir schleierhaft. Wenn man sich beim Durchspielen nur die jeweiligen Karten zur Hand nimmt, wird man vieles verpassen. Habe ich jedenfalls beim ersten Durchgang für die Lexika so gemacht und musste dann dennoch dauernd im Text suchen, was auf Dauer doch nervig wird.- Secrets sind nicht Komplett ( zum Beispiel fehlt ein Kapitel zu den schwarzen Bestia).- Minigames nur kurz angesprochen und keine hilfreichen Taktiken ( Schmetterlingsjagd/Chokoborennen im Remium Tempel).Mein Fazit: Als ein kleiner "Berater" für meine bezahlten 13 Euro ist das Buch ok. Wenn Man aber alles aus dem Spiel kitzeln möchte, reicht es nicht aus. Habe mir aus diesem Grund wieder das Lösungsbuch von Piggyback auf eBay für etwas mehr Geld (gibt es auch schon für unter 20 Euro im Guten Zustand) ersteigert, dafür verpasst man auch wirklich kein einziges Detail.

Très utile pour ne rien manquer. Le livre est facile à utiliser. Je recommande de le prendre lors de la deuxième partie. Car il est moins facile de suivre la partie quand on a toujours un œil dans le livre.
