American Outdoorsman The Appalachian Trail Pan's (40/32, Raven)

First off, let me say that the fit of these pants is pretty amazing. I had recently lost my other hiking pants to HUNDREDS of seed ticks, so I was in the market for my one month Appalachian trail return. Anyway, I saw these pants and thought, "Of course."These pants work very well as long as you are in ideal conditions, but surprisingly, being on the Appalachian trail brings rain. And guess what? These HOLD AND RETAIN water more than a tampon. You soon discover that the entire makeup of these pants is waterlogged, except for the knees and the crotch? What?Long story short, these ended up being the worst pants I ever bought, they didn't even dry when off of my body overnight, and rest assured, no thru hiker who came in contact with me will ever buy these pants, they ended up mildewing after a few weeks, because they never completely dried.So if you are going on a little day hike, enjoy these pants. But simply for boasting the name "Appalachian trail pants", these are straight up garbage. Sorry.

Bought 2 pairs of these pants as work/camp pairs and so far they've held up to scrapes. The "belt" that comes with it is pretty much a novelty - it hardly if at all functions. It never stays snug and the cheap webbing frays like crazy. Would've been great if it came with a plastic buckle it other alternative. Now I have to purchase a separate belt.

I really like the Appalachian Trail pant as I spend lots of times outdoors volunteering with the SPCA. I need to avoid ticks and mosquitoes. This product does the trick and is lightweight and comfortable.
