UPDATE: Does not prevent flatweave rugs from sliding around. Will be looking for an alternative product.Strong odor, like going to a tire shop. Not sure if it will ever finish off-gassing. after 24 hours, no sign of improvement, so it's out on the patio for now. I'll update if it goes away in the next week. I wasn't prepared for how strong the odor is, tho.Otherwise it seems promising. Looks like some kind of rubber, not a foam like most of this type of rug pad. Big squares about a cm in size. Under the flatweave it had an okay cushioning feel, but not high enough to trip anyone or warp the rug.I got a matching runner from this brand and was not impressed with the quality, so this is sort of two for two against Safavieh unless the odor goes away. I'm not going to be buying it again, and definitely not their rugs.

After researching different ways to keep a rug from slipping, I settled on this product for 2 reasons: 1) Most of my research said to pony up and buy a non-slip rug pad and 2) The rug I bought was also made by Safavieh. So far, the rug pad has held the rug in place extremely well. The pad itself provides some cushion while walking on the rug, which is needed because the rug itself is thin.The only issue i had with the pad itself is it's a bit longer than the rug, although both are advertised at 14-feet. It's an easy solution since it's easily cut with scissors. I'd rather have the rug pad be longer than the rug so I'm not complaining.Overall - great product for the week or so I've had it under the rug.

I haven't installed this grip mat as oftoday, so I don't know how well it'll work.I want to make anyone else who buys this mat aware about the following issue. When I opened the package, the mat wreaked of some kind of chemical. I had to put it outside to air out for 3 days for the smell to go away.

Its a nice pad, but the rug does move around some. My rug is a runner in my hallway and my dogs like to run all over it and it tends to move a bit at the ends. Overall it keeps the rug from bunching up or slipping around when you are walking on it, so I think it is a good rug pad.

Very easy to work with. Our hallway rugs slide all the time on our tile floor and our old arthritic dog was scared to walk on them, however this padding has really made our carpet runners stay in place & helped get our poor old guy regain his confidence to walk on them again.

It was a bit longer than my runner, but I was still able to use it. It does the job very well, and I am pleased with the purchase. I feel more secure with the rug pad as my husband has trouble walking and I didn't want the rug to slide on the parquet flooring. It stays in place very well.

I had high hopes that it would prevent my runner hallway rug (that is on carpet) from sliding where the different lanes of traffic are. I have to adjust the rug less, but I still fix it 1-2 times I week. I was hoping I could put the pad under it and it would totally fix my problem, but I am still spending time fixing it.

Great product!! I actually use this brand for other rugs I've purchased.
