Great read aloud for 1-2 graders
This book is great if you want to introduce Russian folklore to young children. "Masha and the Bear" is a great read aloud for 1-2 graders. Also, it is a wonderful character analysis book. Young readers end up admiring Masha for outsmarting a bear.

Excellent introductory chapter reading
Our 3-year-old grandson really enjoyed this book and similar titles in this series. He enjoys reading to a chapter end and picking-up where we left off the previous evening. These are well-written, nicely illustrated, and introduce preschoolers to more complex stories in an enjoyable way. Highly recommend the Animal Stories books.

Nice telling of a russian classic
Very close to the original russian story. nice illustrations. I usually tell the story from memory, but have enjoyed reading this book to my daughters as well.

Great!
My 2 year old is obsessed with the cartoon "Masha and the Bear", so her Godfather found this book and gave it to her for her birthday. She is in LOVE with this book! We read about half the book before bedtime and naptime. I about have it memorized!! But some nights, it's the only way I can get her to come to bed because we are going to read masha! :) wish there were more stories with these characters!

Beautiful book
My son's favorite book and he is only 17 months. He loves the illustrations. He can easily follow the narrative because of the pictures and he has begun saying words like Masha, house, cave & pies!

Great story ....
A lovely little book / story about Masha and the bear. My daughter who just turned 3 loves the little videos so we thought she would like the book too and she does.
