A Must Read for your health
This book is for practically anyone wanting to protect their liver. Truly we are what we eat. From the minuscule reading I’ve done, NAFLD (Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease) is one of the most prevalent issues of our day. If you often feel like you have flu-likesymptoms, do a “heads-up.” You may have NAFLD, often mis-diagnosed for the flu. There are other symptoms as well, which your Doctor could help you with. But even if you are in the spring of health, this book would be a benefit for you. The dialogue the authors have is not scary; the recipes are easily put together & not too weird. My recommendation is: This is a must have book that will probably find a spot on your kitchen shelf helping you to even better health. If you can, check it out from your local library. That’s what I did & I immediately bought the book for myself. I feel better since following the principles & guidelines offered in this book. To your good health.

Best book I've seen on Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD). Very thorough.
The book covers many other liver problems, not just NAFLD. There is LOTS of nutrition information that you won't find in other books. Sometimes their explanation of things is a little slim, though. For example, "oligofructose." It's a pre-biotic, but they don't explain any more than that. "Fructose" sounds bad for someone trying to avoid sugar, so. . .. The recipes seem "normal," in other words, I don't see many substitutions for NAFLD. Some of the recipes do use margarine, but it's almost impossible to find margarine that isn't made with palm oil or palm kernel oil, both of which are SATURATED fats that are thought to have a detrimental effect on the environment. No margerine for me. They use regular pasta, not high fiber, which I thought was odd. They have a nice carbohydrates chart for vegetables, but potatoes aren't listed in that chart. And yet, there are recipes containing potatoes. NUTRITION information for the recipes would be a huge help. You can go online and calculate the nutrition information, but it would be sweet to have it here. Despite some room for improvement, this is the best book I've seen on NAFLD.

Good nutrition info, limited fatty liver advice
I generally read a lot about health and nutrition, so I didn't get much out of the information in the book. If this topic is new to you, this is a good primer. There was not as much information specific to FLD as I'd hoped. I still don't have answers to the inconsistent advice from Dr. Google. I realize that there is probably just not much out there. For example, what's the deal with potatoes? Dairy? Healthy fats? Natural sweeteners?

Best Fatty Liver Cookbook I've found So Far
I purchased 4 "fatty liver diet" cookbooks and this is by far the best of the bunch. All of the recipes I've tried so far have been yummy, even my husband agrees.
