Bathtub Bench/Bath Chair - a great product!
I am very pleased with this purchase. Had surgery that made getting in and out of the bathtub difficult and this transfer bath chair was great! It made life easy to just sit, raise my legs over the side and then slide over to be in the tub. I recommend this product without hesitation.I have a suggestion for anyone that buys this. Because its long and part sits outside the tub (which enables you to slide in easily), get a cheap shower curtain and make a slit so that it closes around the seat. If you do that, no water will get outside the tub! :) This is a great tool for anyone that has difficulty getting in and out of a bathtub. Its sturdy and I felt safe sitting on it. I also liked the fact that there are two big suction cups on the legs that are in the tub so it does not slide at all. The legs are adjustable so you can set it to a height you are comfortable with and its also very sturdy!

Dependable for the Price
I have used this chair a few times now. I am 420 lbs and it was very sturdy not only while sitting but also as I was getting into my tub, transferring & then getting out. The amount of seat that hangs over the tub is just about right even for tubs that have the the toilet close to it. It was fairly comfortable as well. While using it I did not have that "nervous" feeling you get when you use a bath chair because it feels unstable. The suction cups for the inside tube did there job well to keep it from sliding. When my wife had to remove it they were moderately difficult to remove but we found a simple way to do it by using a flat object to slide under the cup and they popped right off.I did however feel it sat me a little high up. That may just be me though. One negative thing I do have to say is that although it was sent mostly assembled and the instructions were very accurate about where to place each part they did not explain how to adjust it properly for the difference in height for the "tub legs" to the "floor legs" outside the tub. If you put them in the same numbers all round it is lopsided. Each tub is different but there was no guideline to help with this so it took about 15 - 30 min to get the adjustment right and this can be very difficult when you have someone that has limited mobility.Overall I would recommend this chair to someone that had limited funds as for the price it performs as advertised.

Does not meet advertized specifications!!
I rated this chair low because it does not meet the advertized specifications. The description clearly states that it adjusts to a seat height of 25 inches. After it arrived and was assembled, I discovered it only adjusts to 22.5 inches. This is the same height as the seat by the same company that is rated for 300 lbs. I purchased this higher weight rated chair for the increase in height it was supposed to provide not for the weight rating. I was forced to build a fixture to move the chair higher off the floor in order for it to clear the top of the tub. Otherwise the chair is well built and seems very sturdy. If it had adjusted to the 25 inch height as was advertized I would have given it a much higher rating.

Two problems: 1) This one is my own over ...
Two problems:1) This one is my own over site, since it looked the same as my previous bench I mistakenly assumed it was, it is not, The area of the seat is smaller and uncomfortably so.2) It arrived with a wrong handle bracket so the handle only locks in on one side. Since I am in the position of requiring the device immediately I could not afford the time and inconvenience of returning it to get a properly assembled unit.

Two legs set outside of the tub and causes water on the floor.
Two of the chair legs set on the outside of the tub and water gets on the floor. The shower chair is better as long as you can get into the tub safely.

plastic seat and chair back nicely moulded and secure fittings
very high quality item. plastic seat and chair back nicely moulded and secure fittings. had very little problem putting together and using in tub. The suction cups on the tub side was a very nice detail that made the seat virtually slip proof. extremely light weight, easily assembled, actually only 2 parts needed to be put together. Height adjustment very nice and easy. I give this a 10 since a five just does not do it justice. The seat is also rated for over 400 lbs, considering the light weight and all aluminum construction I was very surprised. but since I only weight 200 the seat is very solid. This is a must buy for anyone who needs to use a tub as the shower and removes the worry of falling or slipping.

met need
Ordered this after having foot surgery. I intended to use in my tub but have been using it in my shower. The use of this transfer bench has enabled me to take a real bath during my long recovery. The bench is very sturdy and easy to adjust. Back rest just clicks out to change direction. I will be storing this in case I need it again.

Poor quality and unsafe!
This thing is cheap! purchased it for our grandmother so she would be able to shower independently. Set up was easy but very cheap. rocks in the shower and does not set very stable at all. Plus it did not even come in its own original box. it was packed in a box that was taped together by some one at Amazon. We will donate it and use something more safe for gram.
