After seeing a similar mount in a friends vehicle, I came across this product. I was excited to make use of our “useless” CD player in our 2012 to mount my newly aquired 10.5” iPad Pro. There are a few problems.First, the metal pins inside the pivoting mechanism are pushed in too deep, causing one side to slip out from underneath that flat head screw holding it in while being used, causing everything to come crashing down with any disturbance. After about a dozen tries at disassembling, tightening it down, and it happening over and over again, I finally tried to pull the pins out just a bit with pliers so they would not slip out as easily. That solved the issue. Wish I’d tried that sooner, I expected them to be glued in.Second, the bigger issue was that the magnet is simply not strong enough to support the weight of the iPad as advertised. It appears to hold at first, but sometimes the slightest bump in the road causes it to fall off. Unfortunately this caused some minor damage to the metal bezel of my iPad. At that point, I figured it was a good idea not to use it any further so I didn’t end up with a cracked screen.On the other hand, it holds my wife’s Galaxy S8+ perfectly well.I may experiment with adding more magnets to give it more holding power. It truly is a potentially wonderful mounting solution, just needs more holding strength for tablets.

This description says it opens up to 11 inches. It only opens up to 8! Yes it will hold the 10 inch iPad sideways but if you put a case on it, FORGET IT! I don’t rock Apple products without having cases.

So this product cannot hold up the weight of the tablet. Whenever I try to use it, the screen falls forward and makes it really frustrating for my kids. I have to literally prop it up with a blanket or a sweater, to keep it at a reasonable angle so my kids can see. It is so much more trouble than it's worth.

This only fits on front seats in my Jeep Cherokee.. the back seats are smaller width and this does not fit. HOWEVER, paired with the strap for my child’s car seat protector, it holds up well and we still use it. Very sturdy for not even being installed on the metal bars! We use it to hold a kindle fire.

the magnet is surprisingly weaker than expected, it can hardly hold my iphone 6plus with a very thin case, it’s absolutely impossible for this magnet to hold an iPad mini, this’ll not even hold a phone with a normal case ( mine is very thin, and it can’t hold it safely ) in my opinion, this is misleading advertising, strangely the reviews are great, but the product is a dud, I DO NOT recommend anyone to waste their time with this weak magnet, stay looking for something better

Let me start by saying that this is a very great design. But I will say two thumbs down to Quality Control so basically how this works is a pivot system the pivot system has two metal pegs about a quarter inch long one of the holes was drilled too deep for the peg so while tightening the pop out therefore not allowing it to bite down like it should. So I removed one of the screws pulled the peg out added one little itty bitty piece of paper into the hole to keep the pig out words and it works fine. I also have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 and it's somewhat heavy in comparison to other tablets. It holds it very well but if I had a heavy bump it will slot a little but I have yet to have it fall. Also I drive a tractor-trailer so a normal car might not be as bad on the bumps

I have an iPad and planned to use this device on my 2016 Honda Accord. The magnet and stand cannot physically hold the weight of the iPad itself. It even struggles with my phone, whenever I make a turn or a u-turn the whole thing goes with it, having me to grab out and reach it, distracted from the road. Really crazy how this is advertised for iPad's and it can't even do that. Take your money on a different mount other than this one.

I've just got this and I think this is a great use of my CD player since I want my 7" tablet to be secure while I drive. It fit well and I like the strong magnet and metal plates supplied to be stuck onto your device. These are my initial comments but I think this will be a great product for a value.
