I like the scallop pattern more than zig zag and so far it's been an effective shape to prevent fraying. The scissors cut through a few layers of fabric without any issue. I haven't had them long enough to say if they'll stay sharp long term, but in the past months I've used them they've worked well. I used them to cut vinyl with ease too.

Pros: Good shear, I tried a thin fabric, and a medium thickness fabric. Did not get stuck.Cons: A bit heavy, its shear mostly in the middle and not at the edge, but maybe that's how it should be.

I ordered these to cut through cardstock paper. They worked! But these shears are super sturdy, and after cutting for awhile, my hand started to get sore due to the large size of the heavy handles. I have long, narrow hands, and these scissors worked well for short amounts of cutting time.I like them and would recommend this tool to have in your craft drawer.

This works well on very thick felt!

Great for paper or felt but not great on cotton or tulle and absolutely horrible on fleece. Very hard to use, heavy in weight but pointless when then don't work properly. Feels like using a rusted pair of garden sheers.

**Update: 12/28/2021 Still the sharpest scissors in the house, I do way more than cut lace with these now, if you get these I hope they’re in the same quality I got mine in. Still impressed!I got these for cutting lace. They came well packaged and on time. They are very sharp and precise. I wish I bought these years ago. Fabric doesn’t fray when you cut it with scissors/pinking shears like these. Easily a new staple!

bought them to use on my summer dresses that are too long. havent did that yet but use them when my many many indoor plants need to be trimmed love them TY JOY QUAID
