Great upgrade from older Bostitch nailer
I purchased my first Bostitch BT-200 18 ga nail gun about 25 years ago and it’s worked great trimming out 5-6 houses and many other woodworking projects. Recently the older gun started to misfire a lot on the longer nails and I decided to upgrade to this new Smart Point model and I’m very impressed. The new tip design is a big improvement as you can actually see the exact spot it will drive a nail, and the fact that you don’t have to first depress the nose piece makes it a lot easier to use with less marring on the wood. After shooting a nail, the nail hole is crisp and noticeably smaller than the older model. This gun has functioned perfectly so far over a few hundred nails, but another impressive difference is they completely re-engineered the driving mechanism in the nose of the gun and if a nail ever would jamb - now you can open the whole drive mechanism up easily with no tools to clear it, which compared to the older models is a huge improvement. The dial of depth adjustment is very nice and I’ve gotten perfectly set nails in a variety of materials at 90 psi on my compressor. Overall, I’m very impressed and happy I upgraded as sometimes you don’t realize how much they’ve improved these tools over the years.

its fantastic and allows a degree of precision the old rubber/metal ...
Professional User. Believe the hype about the new tip, its fantastic and allows a degree of precision the old rubber/metal horseshoe tips simply can't compete with. Also is incredibly light weight and compact for a high quality nailer and is a joy to use. Has sunk every nail, in any circumstance and material that I've thrown at it so far.Only gripes are the lack of a dry fire lockout, and that its bump-fire mode makes it as dangerous as a framing gun if you aren't paying attention while using it or working with it clipped to your belt. And this last gripe is more nitpicking than anything else, but the gun is so compact and lightweight that you really feel the hose and it decreases mobility in tight quarters as well, without installing an aftermarket swivel coupling that I feel should be standard onAside from those two minor flaws, this thing is a sweet money maker at a great value and its a joy to use on the job.

Solid Tool; not perfect.
This is an excellent tool at a fair price. I have used this for assembly of mitered picutre frames, small wood projects, door and window trim; and kitchen cabinet install. The resultant hole is small and easily filled with the right product to match material. I have shot 1" and 2+" nails. I purchased the Bostitch 16 guage nailer at the same time to install the T&G on the ceiling in my house; it has jammed a few times but otherwise has preformed well. (The Jams are no joke...10 minuets with a few tools and your back in business but man...those nails are IN there) I have seen sparks with both the 16 and 18 guage nailers fly from the tip of the gun when discharging a nail; and I am shooting the recommended Bostitch nails.Always wear eye protection regardless. You can never be too safe with a tool like this. Its a pain in the ass but man will you regret it when you lose an eye. These nailers seem well made to me; the cases are robust and sturdy with space to store nails. The pencil sharpener I use frequently and works very well. I considered the passload cordless nailer; however for less $ I was able to purchase two bostitch nailers and all the nails I need for a year of projects and I'm happy with my choice. This is a light weight tool for its size and preformance. The adjustable depth of nail does work ok; I'd say on average there is about a 3-4mm difference in depth of drive from max in to max out. This varies greatly with the material being used; Example; I was driving 1" 18 guage nails into African Padouk for a cabinet frame and with the depth guage set to drive as deep as possible; pushing hard the nails would drive 3/4 hp husky compressor maxed out at 100 psi and the nails would go about 90-95% of the way to flush. Nail set required to finish off.

One of the best tools in the shop!
A super tool! You pull the trigger and it works every time: no mess, no fuss, just plain good. Bought it to use on kitchen remodeling with tons of trim and baseboards to install. Small and agile, it fit into tight spaces and performed beautifully. Note: practice with it on a throw-away boards before you get to the real thing. Love the different lengths of brads available in the gun. It cut down my project time by hours with no frustration. It does what it's supposed to do, every time.

Awesome tool
I've had it for over a month. It came as described. Intact package. Easy to use and very light. I have been using bostitch brad nails. All sizes up to 2" and no problem at all. Very quite and no markings or very light faint if any. I typically use it @ 90 PSI. Very pleased with this tool so far.
