Farm Girl Quilts: Celebrating the Country Life

I first saw pictures from this book posted on facebook and thought I might like to have this one. Not quite over the top until I saw Midnight Goldenrod. Beautiful colors, beautiful quilt block combination. Ordered the book and am so very happy I did. This is one of those books where you want to make it all! I especially appreciate the little stories from the authors at the beginning of each quilt pattern that tells you of the inspiration behind each quilt. Kind of makes you feel like you're sitting in their country farm kitchens with a cup of coffee sharing fabrics and quilting secrets. The book is well written and the instructions are easy to understand. My biggest problem will be which one to do first.

I bought the book with the intention of making the quilt shown on the cover. I had seen the quilt completed and thought I would like to undertake it. Once I looked through "Farm Girl Quilts" I was excited by other projects inside. Although the cover quilt is lovely, it was put on the back burner because I found "Mrs. Nodlands Chicken Farm," a grapic type quilt. The concept of creating the blocks interested me and I was hooked on it. I collected some stash fabrics and some new fabric and off I went to make this quilt. It is quite lovely if I say so myself. There is a wonderment of projects for you to enjoy.

Just Love the Book.......The front cover drew me to it. I grew up in Vermont, raised my children there and now have retired in Florida.......I brought the north into my home in the south with pottery, quilts, stained glass windows and tole painting.This book just felt line home......I have a cupboard in my kitchen that will have that painted on its doors and will make it a quilt to hang on the wall in the entry......to match.......Have a few ideas for the other offerings in the books for Christmas.Thanks for the inspiration.Thanks also for a very smooth transaction and speedy delivery.

Farm Girl Quilts is a well written book filled with patterns inspired from the two authors' lives growing up on a farm. There are wonderful pictures of the quilts as well as clear illustrations and instructions. The colors used in the quilts are brighter and more cheerful than previous quilts you see depicting farm life. This book was requested for my Quilt Guild Library by one of our members and after displaying it for our group, we have a long list waiting to check it out.

I am not an appliqué fiend but I have use two of the appliqué designs very user friendly . Not kitschy- country but warm and nice . somewhat like Kim Diehl . There are also pieced quilts in the book

Not quite as impressive as I thought it would be but nice. It had one pattern that I've been looking for.Several nice ones.

Love this book. I always preferred "country" quilting patterns and this book really comes through with a full variety of sizes and projects that would please any quilter.

I received this book promptly, in excellent condition, and it met all my expectations.The book itself is full of fun projects!
