Christmas in the Big Woods: A Christmas Holiday Book for Kids (Little House Picture Book)

I love this sweet little house book. My children love reading this book each Christmas and so this year I added it to our Christmas book collection. Beautiful pictures with great detail you love to look at over and over and a sweet story that reminds us of how simple Christmas use to be. I always remind my children what Laura and the other children received on Christmas and the ways they made Christmas special without all the stuff.

This is the classic story and and one of a beatifull collection. The kids enjoy the book and the story. Is simple, no complex and easy going for the ones that are learning to read.

I loved Little House Prairie books to read when I was kids, so I was thrilled to find these short version books. Got this for my grand daughter that is 5 years old and got to read it to her while visiting and I will always cherish that moment showing her the pictures of the book while I read the book to her. She loved it. I highly recommend these shorter versions for younger children.

This book is lovely. My oldest has already listened to all the originals, but he liked listening as we used this book to introduce the younger kids to the series. This was great because we ended up getting invited to see a Little House Christmas play not longer after reading this, and our four-year-old definitely understood more of it. The illustrations are just what you'd expect and the text captures the feel of the book.Notable: our seven-year-old read this enthusiastically, even though he normally trudges through reading. Works for kids reading Level 2 or Level 3 books.

This is a perfect book for a young reader. Very simple and nice that is tells the story of a real family.

What I wanted!

This whole series is quite sweet and the children love them. They make good readers too. The pictures are always so interesting and charming to the children, they love looking at them. They love imagining Laura and her family, especially the little girls. This is good for ages 5 and up. The text is simple and a good intro to the big books.

Sweet book. We enjoy all of the books from this series. Beautifully illustrated and written. Nice delivery.

I only discovered The Little House books after watching the TV series with all of my children, several years ago. They really inspired me to make life simpler and to be creative. Even though for the Pioneers, it was a necessity, they were always having to use their imagination in order to survive. I bought this for one of my grandchildren, and then had to buy another for myself ! I use technology of course, but it's so good to remember that there is another way .

My family have loves this series for quite a long time.We have several of them and this one is really nice to read too.Beautiful pitctures and a very easy and lovely story for young ones.Highly recommended.
