Really nicely designed, nice solid metal
Shopped around for substantial/nice looking CAC reader for my desk. This one is all metal and works perfectly on my MAC

CAC reader works great with MacBook Air - Sierra OS
This worked immediately with my MacBook Air running the Sierra OS 10.12.1. I am using it as a CAC reader and was able to log into my webmail and other CAC enabled sites with no problem. I didn't have to install any drivers but I did have to install some DOD certs on my computer (you can get all the info at militarycac.com). This is a great product and took no effort at all to get working. I am very pleased.

This worked right out of the box with a Mac running El Capitan and using PKard software! Not a single issue with this card reader. By the by it is very well made but may not be the best for travel given it is a bit heavy. I would recommend this and purchase again if I need another CAC/PIV card reader. Seldom I have seen such an effortless installation. Again very well made!
