Q: are the particles inside the pouch toxic ?

The particles which are inside the pouch as per me cannot be toxic because the way it is packed and sealed from all sides. It helps to absorb the moisture which has been created on the walls or inside the cupboards and help to keep the clothes dry and free from any moist. if the particles inside the pouch were to be toxic then why would anyone ever think of buying such a product as it would then lead to lot of health issues interms of breathing heavily which would lead to a stroke. So hence my answer to your question is a big "NO" regarding the particles which are inside the pouch are toxic.

If you mean for it to cluster together and look like a shining lump, it is possible with drastic changes in temperature. However it has no bearing on performance as it happens to the moisture that has already been collected

No it is only to be put inside cupboards. They are not suitable for food items since it contains chemicals
