I was looking for a shelf that could actually hold the weight of books - so many these days are made for knickknacks and stuff, in just a year or two they’ll sag.This bookshelf is SO GOOD. Really sturdy shelves, not too hard to put together, and it looks great. Some minor issues with the wood stain, but it’s easily fixed (or hidden). I am so happy with this purchase.

The box with the metal frames came damage but nothing was damaged inside, thank goodness!This is a beautiful sturdy bookshelf, very happy with this purchase. I was pleasantly surprised it came earlier than expected, it didn't have to be shipped directly from China, so glad! MAKE SURE you choose WOOD and NOT Engineered wood. Real solid wood for sure, nice and heavy duty wood. Glad I didn't come across some problems some people have said. Other than one tiny bit of chipped wood and two screws NOT lining up (which was okay because 4 other screws did), everything else was fine. FYI...One person can put this together by starting it laying it on the floor (with rug or carpet if you don't want to scratch up your wooden floor) with two shelves screwed in first (use feet to lift it up a little) and then stand it up to finish the other three shelves. Try not to scratch the wood as you push it through the 3 metal frames. Definitely need to strap onto wall if it's going to be on a carpeted floor.

This came shipped in 2 boxes both in good condition. We needed the book case for an upstairs hall so we purchased the bigger one. It went together easily after we got the top and bottom shelves attached. It took us about 45 minutes since the top and bottom shelves were the most cantankerous. After that, it was smooth sailing. I love the face that it is tall and the shelves are wooden boards, no particle board here! The frame is a heavy metal and seems very sturdy. After I took the picture, I added books to the very top shelf and they fit nicely and didn’t need bookends because the metal frame kits out about 3 inches above the top shelf. I think it was a good purchase and good value for the money. Oh, and the feet have adjustable plugs that make it easy to level! I’m a happy camper.

This good looking shelf was a cinch to assemble. A friend came over to help but sat and watched because it's easier with just one instead of bumping heads... except setting it upright and moving into position. It's solid as heck. Once the cross members are on, you have to really push on it to make it move. It was a little on the pricey side,but I don't feel ripped off. It's a quality piece of furniture. With the exception of the dent, which I disregarded because it faces the wall, it was in great shape on arrival. All in all, I'm incredibly pleased with the purchase. Be aware it does come in two separate boxes.

I love this bookcase! Love the open back and the thick pine shelves. It looks so pretty in the room and fits perfectly against a wall that has a slanted ceiling. We couldn't find anything that looked good on that wall and this shelf is perfect - both the look and dimensions. Assembly was easy and straightforward, and one person can do it alone. Another reviewer recommended to install the top and bottom shelves first, and that was a good idea. Some of the threaded wholes in the shelves didn't line up perfectly with the screw holes in the metal frame, but because the shelves are real wood and flexible, it was possible to 'force' it to line up and complete the assembly. I couldn't be happier with this shelf. Yes, I recommend it.

Well made, easy to assemble, everything lined up! Looks amazing! I have both the double and single 5 shelf systems in my bedroom and will be buying another set of the same for my office when the prices drop again to not-holiday pricing. I have a couple hundred pounds of books, magazines, papers, statuettes, collectibles and rocks/minerals on each and feel completely safe with the sturdiness. The ONLY complaint I have with these is the long X straps in the back are noisy, they clang when you walk by if your floor has flex. Fixed this with a thumbnail sized glob of hot melt glue where the straps cross to keep them from contacting each other and a good tightening of the screws. Great product for the price for sure.
