Funny but not realist
You are suppose to make decisions for your life and your child, however, the program will not allow you truly make real decisions. They are quite funny though. As a woman, every time I went back to work I would fight horribly with my husband and at least one of my children would almost die. These "facts" are told in story format, not allowing you to make any decisions. There were "chapters" or "years" of the child's life that I would not choose anything for them, it would just tell me things that happened during that time. This was for class, only reason to do it. It was funny, but completely pointless.

It is a great interactive tool
I purchased this as a student, and actually had my teacher reset the program for me at the end of the class, so I could go through it again. It is a great interactive tool, that allows you to make parenting choices about a virtual child, and see the outcome. This program gives choices based off of information given by the user at the beginning of the program about the user's development, and then gives choices based off of several parenting styles.

Mediocre, but required for class
Hideous virtual children. Nightmare fuel. Fun simulation, but doesn’t seem professionally made. And expect subtle western bias against grandparents being active caregivers and stay-at-home mothers. Overpriced for such limited personalization options. This SIMS is a better simulation, and yes, I’m talking about the classic game.

Cheaper than from the website
Worth it to save ten bucks rather than buy instant access through myvirtualchild. Using this for a class and it worked perfectly. Very interesting - I would have finished it if my professor had not put a cap on the progress you can make. Super fun and informative as well!

Not so useful
Didn't care for it. It is unrealistic and the outcomes pre-ordained.Most frustrating is you can't go back and open the "reviews" or "development" meetings you have with fictional experts on the development of your fictional child.Guaranteed. Your child will have a fear of some kind you have to overcome. You will have a second child (amazing no pregnancy even). You child will excel at something and be dismal in another. Your child will be unhealthy if you don't breastfeed and start solid food at the first prompt. Your child will be unsure and unready for Pre-K if you don't choose options that are independent play. Its a child simulation like Jersey shore is reality tv.
