Scandinavian Folk Designs (Dover Pictorial Archive)

Purchased as a gift for my granddaughter. It's got lovely design, easy worksheets and great tips. It's just the right book for the right child!

This book gives ideas for creating very attractive Scandinavian folk drawing. I am a frustrated rosemaler and before I trashed my pallet, I tried this book. Scandinavian folk art uses many floral designs, and the book has pictures that are easy to draw, and it gives ideas to create your own. Many of the designs are similar to rosemaling, so you can enter the wonderful world of rosemaling through the back door! (You can down two birds with one stone!) It is particular fun to use this book with a book on fraktur and Pennsylvania Dutch Hex Signs. The possibilities are endless!

Nice designs and size. Like the pull out pages. Wish the paper was thicker. Can not imagine one could water color the pages.

Very helpful! Lovely designs, some of which I want to use. I'm taking a class in Rosemaling and these designs will help me in class.

I may not have read the details as well as I should have, but there will be half of a design on one page, and the another partial one on another page. I thought it would be like a normal coloring book where each page is a Scandinavian design, and you color it. I don't know what in the world this was! It almost looked like something one might use for stencils? No idea.

I am looking for patterns for a stitching project I am doing so will need to adapt the patterns for that. At some point I will do the coloring from the book.
