Fun and interactive read
We checked this book out at the library a couple of years ago and then a second time last year. It's such a cute book I wrote down the title and author in case I ever needed to buy a toddler gift. I have since bought two of them. Even though my kids are not toddlers anymore, they wanted to keep it for themselves. It's a great interactive read- you can have the toddler tell you the animals, which is the odd one (teaches them descriptive words), etc.

Outdated wording used as descriptors
Good counting book, but the wording is outdated (referring to body types as fat vs skinny) isnโt how we teach kids to talk these days. Granted, they are penguins. But still. This is teaching kids to categorize based on body type.

Helps to improve language, attention to detail and focus!
Our 2 year old loves this book and I (as a learning specialist and his mother) do too! It challenges them enough to keep them engaged and also helps to improve language, attention to detail and focus. Highly recommended for children aged 2-7 and maybe older!

I love this book!
I wanted to puchase this book ever since I saw it at our local library. It teaches size, spatial relationships, critical thinking, and attention to detail. It's like an educational "Where's Waldo" for toddlers!

New Seek-and-Find Series
The Odd One Out series is a unique seek-and-find set of books geared toward ages 3 to 5. With van Genechten's stunning artwork, young readers are asked to find the one that doesn't belong.I've been a fan of van Genechten's work for some time. This talented author/illustrator gets right to the heart of the matter with children. But in this adorable new series, he's lighten things up a bit. Kids will learn how to sort and identify differences along with a neat twist at the end. In Big and Small the questions revolve around size and which animal is ready to go to a party.A study board book, this one will be up to tons of wear and tear. Highly recommended.I received a free copy of this book from the author's publicist. This review contains my honest opinions, which I have not been compensated for in any way.

Simple, subtle, funny, fun
This is a great book, a perfect step up from the simple books of opposites that are so common. Readers are asked to find the differences between animals in groups. The illustrations are funny, and the differences are pitch perfect: simple enough for kids, but subtle enough that it takes some work (and is fun grownups, too). I can't wait to get more in this series!

"Which one just went to the bathroom?"
This books is very cute and lovely to look at, though some adult readers may not be totally comfortable with children being asked to point out penguin is fat and which is thin, and some adult readers may be sensitive to the very light scatological humor on one page, but I think the average adult and child will find a lot to delight in here. It's one of those books you can "read" with your child for a long time.

Brilliant book!
I haven't had a chance to share it with my daughter yet, but this book looks perfect. Highly educational and great fun. Offers much more than the usual books of opposites and has great quality illustrations. I absolutely LOVE it!
