A Masterpiece
This book is a masterpiece; it’s clear how much work has gone into it. The range of recipes is magnificent, with clear pictures and interesting, clear explanations. (If you follow the talented Maangchi on YouTube, this collection has all the greats.) Beautiful recipe book.

Fabulous book
I have seen some of Maangchi’s YouTube videos and find her enchanting, lovely energy 🌟 her recipe book (s) are well presented, explanatory and easy to follow. Fabulous recipes, I can recommend this book along with her others so refreshing to have everything explained so clearly. Well done Maangchi, a real winner 💕 x

So many great recipes that are easy to follow
I love Maangchi's youtube channel, her recipes are so practical and easy to follow. This book has all my favourite recipes and more, with great inspiration for lunch boxes. It is quite expensive considering she has so many recipes online already but I still love a old school cookbook to flick through for inspiration.

Very easy to follow with info of each major ingredient. Also love learning about Korean culture through food. Highly recommend this if you want to try making Korean cuisines, whether you are vegans, vegetarians or meat lovers.

Mein Go-To Kochbuch für koreanische Küche. Kommt bei mir gefühlt jede Woche raus und habe auch beinahe alle Rezepte durch. Rezepte sind gut beschrieben, die Zutaten meist gut zugänglich auch außerhalb Asiens (außer bei 1-2 Rezepten) und geschmacklich wirklich ein Fest. Alles in allem außerordentlich zufrieden.

Me encanta este libro. Soy un auténtico fanático de la comida coreana y Maangchi hace que sea fácil para todos los públicos. No tengo un nivel de inglés alto,pero para entender el libro es muy fácil. Muy recomendable . Esta mujer es adorable.

Recently I purchased three Korean cook books including simply Korean and Learning Korean. I must say This book is huge on pictures making it very lively accompanied with easy to follow Korean recipes. My happy book. Great book to have!

I first learned about this author due to her beloved social media presence. She makes wonderful videos showcasing how to make authentic Korean food. Many of my friends also came across these videos, and I can tell you that we all find her to be endearing and genuine. This cookbook is Maangchi’s second (I own her first one as well). I like that her cooking style is straightforward and easy to follow. The pictures are well-styled, mouthwatering and plentiful. I can tell that a lot of time and effort went into this publication! Lately, my family has preferred my kimbap over my sushi. They prefer the nutty nuances of rice seasoned with toasted sesame oil over the vinegary seasoning of sushi rice. Honestly, although they look similar, the ingredients and flavor profile are completely different. I learned how to make kimbap from Maangchi’s first cookbook. I was delighted to see that this second cookbook also has a kimbap recipe. This recipe calls for fishcake instead of beef. What is great about kimbap is that you can pretty much use whatever you have on hand. The photo I’m including is of a “hybrid” because I used BOTH crab sticks and fishcake. The result was AMAZING and my family devoured it! PS: I used my own freshly prepared pickled radish (super simple to make). Don’t forget to dip the leftovers in egg for breakfast time panfrying! If course, this cookbook abounds with many more recipes besides kimbap. Another standout for me is the Japchae (sweet potato starch) noodle dish. The noodles are also known as “glass noodles.” This dish is a big favorite in my family. We order it every time we visit our local Korean restaurant. I appreciate that I can now make it myself! It is notable that each recipe includes anecdotes and history notes. If you’re searching for a well rounded Korean cookbook with easy-to-make recipes, then this book might be a very good option for you!
