This steel has a really nice looking design. Sharp and sturdy. The grip is nice looking and provides good support. The weight is well balanced and works well. The sheath is also good quality and the knife fits securely in it.

Any knife in this price range that shows Damascus steel is always acid etched, not genuine Damascus. This piece is definitely genuine with a beautiful pattern. In addition, it has a full tang. With all my discounts, my cost was under $10.00, ridiculous. Just buy it.

It's genuineI was skeptical I've had a few different damascus blades this one is particularly sharp easy to maintain the edge beautiful design and it's heavy very heavy its feels good cuts good the sheath is snug dunno why you'd want a loose one i plan on getting the rest of them as well great buy

Blade shape is not quite what was shown in picture. The knife I received did not have much curve to the belly, almost straight, the the width of the blade was bigger than I thought it would be at the handle side. The blade I received was very triangular in shape. I assume it's because it's supposedly hand made. I cannot tell if this is truly damascus steel or just etched; when i rub the blade, I can feel the ridges of the swirls. This is the first damascus knife I've owned, so I do not know if this is how it should be. I will still keep the knife, but blade shape is kind of important, especially when I ordered this knife specifically because of the shape.

This is an OK knife for the price - 3 1/2 stars. This is what you get for your money: Overall, it feels good in the hand, but the shank has sharp edges where the wood handles and shank mate together. The Damascus blade is beautiful and fairly sharp; however, my knife was delivered with a 1/4" rust spot on the blade where the plastic wrapping protecting the blade was worn/torn away when the knife was inserted into the leather sheath for shipping. I got most of the rust off, but it has now left a dark, discolored spot on both sides of the blade. Make sure to keep the metal parts of the knife oiled to prevent any future rusting. The leather sheath is too tight, and the knife is hard to remove from the sheath as well. It appears to be a "generic" sheath, and not one actually made for the knife. Like the other reviewers have said, get yourself a better sheath if you need one. It will only be a display knife in my collection.

If you read the complaints about rust, just know that 99.9% of damascus blades will rust. Different types of stainless steel could be used but the patterning really won't be visible.Box came vacuum sealed in plastic. Knife was wrapped in lightly oiled plastic wrap. Seller appears to be doing something about the few rust complaints. Knife drops almost all the way down leaving about 1 3/4 inches of the handle sticking up, with no retention options available.Overall, I'm happy with the quality, for $18 it's definitely worth the money. Weight is a little heavy, but for outdoor use that's fine.

I work for LAFD and love this knife. It helped me with all I needed the long days at these fires. It's Durable, Rugged and keeps its sharpness and form Plus the sheath will withstand anything. If you want a great knife you should get this one. I will take it camping once I get my time off.
