There are some good recipes in this book. They aren't for big batches so you have to double, triple or whatever to get the amount of bars you want. I've made one recipe so far and thought my bars were a bit too soft so I remelted and added more beeswax which did the trick. I am looking forward to making other recipes.

The book is about a paragraph of info and 10 recipes. Not many tips in the book. One tip that isn't but should be, melt your beeswax first. The first batch I dumped everything in together and afterwards realized that the beeswax didn't quite melt completely. You may want to get a double boiler from a second hand store so you don't have to worry about lotion residue on your food. I've tried two different recipes. The coconut oil lotion bar and the lavender lotion bar - however, I scented them both with coconut essential oil. The shea butter has a fairly strong scent on its own and is similar in consistency to coconut oil when solid. Cocoa butter is hard (like a soap bar) and came shaped similar to an over-sized stick of butter. I scored the measurement edges and "shaved" it with a large knife to get shavings to melt. I didn't use a lot of essential oil... maybe 15 drops per batch. The silicone molds need to be set on a wire rack or tray before you fill them or you cannot move them without spilling the contents. These tips would have been useful to include in the book, but for time and investment, I'm happy overall. You don't have to fill the molds to the top. I used the freezer method to set them. Took 45 minutes to an hour start to finish. Big hit at work - made a bunch to give as gifts. I bought the molds and most of the ingredients on Amazon.

First, the book was free to download - love that! Gave me some great ideas on ingredients to try. If you haven't tried making lotion bars, it's super easy and fast. Book recommends double boiler but I've used a mason jar with lid in pan of water then use a hot pad to pick it up and shake to mix. No mess!

I liked how easy this was to read. Straight to the point and full of recipes. I can not wait to try these out.

Would be nice if the recipes had ounces along with cup measurements and how many lip balms it makes per recipe.

Great little book with lots of recipes for lotion bars. I love the variety of recipes, and the attention to detail. The recipes are easy to follow, and laid out in an easy to understand manner. I would recommend "10 Easy Homemade Organic Lotion Bars" by Diann Bright.

Will definitely have a go at these bars they seem simple enough and being natural and Chem free is a bonus everyone should look to have...
