How to make this book work for Catholics and Christians
This is my favorite natural beauty book. Shiva is very open, honest and pours love and charity onto every page of this book. Her advice for self-care are amazing and I always find myself reaching for this book when I want to give myself some much needed self-love.She does share with us her spiritual practices in great depth. Unfortunately, as a Catholic, many of her pages on spirituality I couldn't practice due to the conflict in spirituality.I wouldn't say the spirituality aspect she gives us should be a complete deterrent for Catholics or Christians - or anyone - to get this book. It's good to understand and appreciate people's different walks of life because everyone is unique and beautiful in their own ways. With that, this book gives lots of great ideas and inspiration. Even from the very beginning, Shiva welcomes us, takes us by the hand and encourages us to take her lessons and tailor it to be our own.I used her pages on spirituality to see where parallels in Catholicism and Christianity lie, so that I could use her stories as inspiration on where my religious practices could be substituted in.I've included the list below and hope that it will be helpful for any who are hesitant about the spiritual aspects of the book.Thank you, Shiva, for your incredible gift to us all and for being such an inspiration!-----Catholic/Christian Alternatives:Phases of the Moon, Chakras, Yoni Eggs -> This is not part of Catholic doctrine and not recommended for practice.Ritual -> This relates to Catholic sacred tradition (omitted in Protestant Christianity). Sacred Tradition are practiced traditions handed down from the Apostles, Church Fathers/Doctors/Saints and from apparitions given by God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Mary, Angels and Saints throughout the years. Some examples include fulfilling the sacraments (going to confession, receiving communion especially at Sunday mass, marriage, holy orders, etc.), praying the Rosary, Lectio Divina, reading the daily mass readings, praying the Divine Office, praying the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Novenas, Chaplets.Making Your Own Altar -> This relates to creating a home oratory/altar or prayer corner. A crucifix, Bible, Rosary and blessed candles are a good start. Other good items to add are Holy water, a vase for flower offerings, statues or pictures of saints. The book, "The Little Oratory" goes into great detail on this.Space Clearing -> This relates to blessing a home. Priests can come to your home to bless it, but do remember to give them a donation or offer them a nice meal as thank you for their charity.Incenses -> Traditionally in the Church, frankincense or myrrh are burned in a thurible/censer. Blessed candles traditionally in a red glass like the tabernacle candle would be a good alternative.Goddesses -> The Catholic version would be Saints. They're real people who've lived exemplary Christian lives. We can ask them to pray for us and many saints have patronages. Popular saints and their patronages are Mother Mary, St. Joseph (fathers, workers), St. Patrick (engineers), St. Francis of Assisi (animals), St. Nicholas (children), St. Therese of Lisieux (florists), St. Anthony (lost items), St. Christopher (travelers), St. Valentine (love, happy marriages), St. Cecilia (musicians), St. Gerard (expectant mothers), St. Dymphnia (anxiety, depression, mental illness), St. Peregrine (cancer healing), St. Maximillian Kolbe (addictions), St. Lidwina (chronic pain), St. Jude (hopeless causes).Honoring Nature with Ritual -> This ties in with the Liturgical calendar. By celebrating Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, Pentecost and the Ordinary Times throughout the year, you can bring in symbols from each season and the liturgical colors into your home or altar to celebrate the seasons.Crystals -> Replace with Sacramentals and Devotional Items. Although we don't practice with crystals, sacramentals and devotional items are comparable alternatives. Common devotional items that can be used as sacramentals are rosary beads, scapulars, medals and religious images. They must be properly blessed or exorcised by an ordained priest. If broken or no longer wanted, must also be disfigured and buried in the ground. The blessing is lost if sold for profit.Daily Rituals -> Morning Prayers and evening prayers are good practices. Other popular prayer rituals include praying the Divine Office/Breviary/Little Offices (which have prayers for morning, 9am, noon, 3pm, 6pm and evening), praying the Angelus (usually at 6am, 12pm, 3pm or 6pm), praying the Divine Mercy chaplet during Holy Hour (3pm, the time of Jesus' crucifixion), and praying the Leonine Prayers after non-Holy Day masses (3 Hail Marys, Hail Holy Queen, St. Michael Prayer, 3x Sacred Heart Have Mercy prayer).Guided Meditations -> Lectio Divina or Bible reading.

Exquisite Book for Inner & Outer Beauty🌷
This is an exquisite and refreshingly insightful hardcover book by Shiva Rose. Reading about her honest personal account of hitting rock bottom reminds me of my own story of struggle, and how it was imperative to not just survive; I needed to thrive, and Shiva's powerful words really ring true for me. I commend her for putting herself out there the way she does in this book; she's offering so many people hope as a result. Her serene photos, natural recipes, self-care rituals and genuine words of sage advice are all useful for anyone seeking inner and outer beauty and balance.Shiva explains the beliefs of Kundalini, a physical and spiritual practice, and Ayurveda, which is an incredible, preventative Indian healing modality. Ayurveda is one of the reasons I've begun to genuinely heal from my chronic illness. Shiva talks about the significance of flowers, herbs, crystals, essential oils, candles, incense, goddesses, chakras, and SO much more!Learn how to make your own plant-based insect repellent, toothpaste, dishwashing liquid, spray cleaner, perfumes, hydrosols, toners, tonics, herbal tea blends, "cacao maca cloud smoothie" and other chemical-free homemade beauty/cleaning products and herbal remedies/drinks. Many of the recipes are basic for beginners, but there are still a lot of fantastic pieces of information and wonderful recipes here for anyone and everyone. This is a lovely book that encourages you to be the healthiest, strongest version of you, no matter where you may be mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. It's so important to take time to nourish and love yourself, in a natural way, and Whole Beauty goes into detail on how to accomplish those vital life goals. Gorgeous book. Not happy with the price changing. I’m always paying more!:(
Book is gorgeous. Amazon pricing on books, not good!!! Beautiful pages, high quality, and amazing nature pics...Now the only disappointment I have is that I bought this book 4 weeks ago and now the same book costs $10.50 LESS!!!! And it’s not the first time that happens. So now I’m wondering when is the right time to buy a book on amazon?:/ I don’t want to be paying almost double price for a book... it’s very upsetting!

This book is AMAZING!!
THIS BOOK is just beautiful. COVER TO COVER you will be pulled in to the beauty of each page with sharings of recommendations of how to care for yourself head to toe. I loved turning each page that had a product photo, a how to or the simple beauty of a flower. I found this book to be insightful, very caring in sharing delightful ingredients to add to your daily rituals. My most favorite was the peaceful calm this book gave me especially during these difficult times in our world. I will order this book for all my favorite people in my life as I feel this is a gem they too will treasure and use as a daily resource to rejuvenate, and cherish their mind, body and soul. Thank you Shiva for sharing your wisdom and beauty you see in the world. This book is a MUST have.

Visually a beautiful book with an honest and passionate style of writing
Visually a beautiful book with an honest and passionate style of writing. Lots of interesting recipes but be prepared that most of the ingredients mentioned aren't common types so most likely you will need to do a bit of a search online to find them. This book not only gives you practical advice on natural homemade teas, cleaning products, and beauty products but also helps to get closer to your inner self and look at life and beauty with a different, feels good eye and heart.
