Good smooth coffee

I am somewhat new to the world of coffee, having gone 50 years without drinking it. I have always loved the smell of it, though. You can imagine my disappointment when I tasted black coffee for the first time. It was a shock. I tried different brands and blends but could never find one that gave me that delicious quintessential roasted nutty flavor that I was hoping for. Most were either too fruity or too burnt or just bland.Then, I purchased Jo Columbian Coffee. I was impressed that it was responsibly sourced and I wanted to support that. I did not expect that it would become my go-to coffee. It arrived very quickly (still does, every time). When I opened the bag and was immediately met with that warm, robust, nutty, almost chocolatey, cozy aroma, I knew this was going to be special. I brewed my first pot and fell in love. This absolutely struck the perfect note. It is roasted to perfection. No hint of burn or ashtray, and no tart fruit notes. Just right in that sweet spot. I look forward to getting to the office in the morning and getting that first pot brewing. I absolutely love it!I receive different coffees now as gifts, and I will try them all. I'll brew them weak and I'll brew the strong. I want to give them all the benefit of finding the right proportions. But so far, none have matched the exquisite flavor of this coffee. Regardless of whether it is on the weak side or the strong side, hot or cold, it does not disappoint. I realize that different folks have different tastes, but as for me, this is My Coffee!

Love the taste of this coffee not to strong, not to weak. Of course I never use tap water! Makes a great cup of hot coffee even with the coarse ground. Can tell it's low acid I don't burp much and my body handles this coffee far better than other low acid coffees.

It was delicious coffee. Rich flavor and sat well with my gut. I don’t drink coffee much but when I drink I like to have the best ..

Now, I am appreciative of every coffee roaster who tries to produce a fine French Roast bean, that's why I am not totally knocking these guys. However, my local "one horse" town store clerk kind of set me straight: I was buying Starbucks French Roast ground because it was on sale, and she says in her rough hewn voice, "you ain't buying the best coffee, out there, which is Peets. Aint nothin out there as smooth and bold. You should pay the extry (sic) dollar". I told her this is really a matter of opinion and taste. So, I decided to go on a search for some better coffees, let' say like the search for the Golden Fleece, the best French Roast, period. Now, this coffee is not awful. However, it is too roughly ground for a normal drip coffee maker, and in order to get a full classic flavor you need to use a lot more.I'd use a French Press for it. Peets, however, is finely ground, and produces a rich, smooth, and shockingly upbeat feeling that simply can't be overtaken. I'll stick with Peets.
