Book 2 heats things up!
This was a cracker of a sequel. If you haven't read Sin and Chocolate first, you need to (and why wouldn't you? It's fabulous!). Book 2 in the Demigod series picks straight up from where the previous book finishes. The author has done a great job at maintaining momentum and the overall feel of the world that the first installment started. The transition was smooth and it was like there was no break at all. Alexis is now contracted to work for Kieran, focusing on finding his mother's skin and enabling her to have peace in the afterlife. If possible, I actually enjoyed this book even more than the first one. I love how Ms Breene didn't drag events out - I hate it when there's a series and a writer tries to carry single events in plot lines across several books. It does nothing for the story and bores the reader. I'm happy to say that there's none of that rubbish here. There was closure on a couple of story elements that had been set up in the first book and it really added to the fluency and pace of the overall plot. This book had a bit of everything that I love about K.F. Breene's books - strong female characters, a bit of eye candy with the males, suspense, excitement and, most importantly, hilarity. The writing is witty and I'm happy to say there was also a nice bit of raunchiness thrown in between Alexis and Kieran - Hallelujah! The usual merry band of characters featured. The Six continued to be a great addition that supported the story and after to getting to know them a bit more here, they're starting to feel like family. Mordecai was much the same as he continues to prepare to shift. I loved him in the first book and continued to do so here. I found Daisy a bit annoying at times in the first book while still liking her, but I freaking loved her in this book. She was funny, feisty and really held her own as she starts her own training with the slightly murderous Zorn. Kieran's character continued to be hotter than Hades himself as he comes to grasp with his feelings and Alexis' role in his life. I see in some of the reviews that there has been a bit of mixed feedback about Alexis. Well, I freaking loved her even more in this book. She can be a bit clueless and anxious, but I thought that was a brilliant touch from the author. It made her really relatable and even more likeable to me. She is strong and courageous, but also slightly flawed by very human characteristics. It wouldn't be realistic for her to be a confident master of all crafts with her background. Personally, I felt I knew her a bit more in this book and liked her character all the more for it. The story delves a bit more into what makes her tick and combined with her background, we really get to understand why Alexis is the adorable fruit loop she is. And watching her coming into her own with her spirit magic - awesome. And how can I not love and respect a girl who can't be bothered to iron her pants properly? Sounds like my spirit animal. ALexis' inner monologue in this book was also hilarious. She's got a good dash of crazy and she was funny as hell. The book also introduced a new character, Bria, who was set with the task of training Alexis. For Breene fans, think of Reagan, but with tattoos, piercings, a punk/rock vibe and the ability to work with the dead. It goes without being said that I loved her. She was nuts. She worked great with Alexis and, typical of Breene's books, it's once again great to see female characters working together as a strong team rather than pulling each other down. Although Bria does seem to have a death wish!I was on the edge of my seat with a few of the plot twists as the book really took me for a ride. With a few other plot lines tied up, Book 3 is all clear to take on Valens, the guy we love to hate. I loved Sin and Magic and will continue to bow down to the master that is Queen Breene. I can't wait for the next one and every book I read from K.F. Breene is kind of making me want to reenact Misery where I keep her in a basement. That was a joke. Please don't report me :) But seriously, get writing, woman! People have needs and I NEED Book 3. Yesterday!

Amazing follow up to the first. CAn't wait for #3!!!!!!
Wow! What a fantastic addition to an already phenomenal series. Granted it's only the second book, but what a book 2 it is.๐๐๐๐๐The S&M story was just perfect. I love catching up with all the characters from book 1 and meeting a few new ones. The author has continued to build the world up with amazing detail. This is a unique, original series unlike any I've read before. The characters, story line and scenes are developing and written in such detail that it doesn't take a lot of effort to be able to picture it in your head.๐๐๐๐คซ๐คญAlexis is still sassy and confident, most of the time, but sometimes she shows her vulnerable side. In the first book, Kieran was shown to be the perfect example of a Demigod; forbidden, sexy, dangerous and full of ego. In book two he is still all of these, but you get a chance to see his softer side as it develops. They are still a match made is Heaven. I like the kids, sassy, foul-mouthed Daisy and sweet but fierce Mordecai. In book two Mordecai is all healed up and they have both been taken under the wing of The Six, well, all except Zorn, who chose to not join in on training the kids. They are teaching them to fight and protect themselves. Jack is Mordecai's main trainer, but I won't tell you the reason. You have to read to discover that on your own. However, something happens with the training later that was unexpected. I can't wait to see where that goes. Also, Kieran brought in a new character, Bria, to help train Alexis. Bria is a strange one. She's crazy and always colors outside the lines. She loves danger, seeks it out pretty much. Excited to see where she winds up. Plus, the revelation about her better half's identity is one I certainly wasn't expecting.Still drooling over the Six. It's an all-you-can-eat buffet for us ladies. Yummy!๐คค๐คค๐คค๐คค๐คคMy favorite part was all the weird, unique one-liners that the author uses (i.e. Mother-trucker biscuit f%&$#%, just to name one of the many) that had me cracking up. Already adopted some of them. (Thank you to the author for extending my vocabulary.) This go around, I think my favorite part was all the new magical elements that the author added. I just loved it and I can't wait to see more.๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃWant to know what I'm talking about? Then make sure you purchase a copy of Sin & Magic by K.F. Breene.๐ฐ๐ฐ๐๐โ๏ธโ I'm completely hooked on this series and there's still more to come. I can't wait to read the next book, Sin & Salvation.๐ค๐ค๐ค๐ค๐ค(Possible Spoilers Below!)---------I'm gonna include some of the notes I took, thoughts I had while reading it. Hope you enjoy them!* Frank is proving to be quite sexist, even when he's being funny.* Zorn is one of the most intriguing characters of the bunch, can't wait to read more about him.* I'm excited to see where the kids' training leads.* Bria is awesome and it's my first meeting with her. YES!* Love the convo between Kieran and Alexis about her being late with technology and the little black book. Classic!* Chemistry + Kieran + Alexis = Off the charts, hot enough to melt metal.* Love when Bria describes Daisy as a gremlin! ROFL at that moment.* HOLY S***! Lexi has some serious mojo, scary stuff there.* I would have tanned some serious a**es for the B&E stunt.* Still intrigued by The Six. Looking forward to reading more about them. Discovering more of their powers and maybe some background details.* Phew!!! Some close calls and serious hotness up in the bedroom.* Elated for Lyra. That scene made me sad and joyful at the same time. Hard not to feel both for all in that moment.* How Cool! She connected them to one another; body, soul and magic. Sharing is caring! LOL!* Love the internal GPS bit. Wish I had that sometimes.* Woohoo! Lexi kicked some necromancer butt! WTG, girl.* Proud of Lexi. She stood her ground, put her foot down, made the choice for herself. Though, I'm not sure if that makes her brave or stupid. Guess we'll find out.* Love that Alexis, Mordecai and Daisy are such a close family. A family that has expanded by 7, 8 if you include the reluctant Kieran.* Done! I'm so hooked. I'm not sure I have enough patience to wait for the next book.

Possesive
I like a female main character who pushes back, is unpredictable and reaches for what she wants: that's here in this story line.

Wow, and itโs only #2
Unbelievable writing skills. Iโve already encouraged my husband to read this series and he only reads westerns! So much fun and drama and twists and turns. And the characters sit on your sofa and talk to you. Of course, the romance is sizzling hot and electrifying! I would recommend this series to anyone, even if they didnโt do magic. Off to the next one, NOW!

Really good 2nd book in this UF/paranormal series
The main character, Lexi slightly annoying at times. I did roll my eyes and cringed but then laughed out loud a few times. Overall, a good hero to back and someone whose story I am intrigued to see how it pans out. To get a reaction like this means the author has done a great job.The side characters are what keeps me hooked with this series. Love Daisy and the 6. Will definitely read the next in series and I imagine as the plot continues, the characters will develop further and imagine things will get even more interesting.Highly recommend for people who like urban fantasy/paranormal romance. Contains some graphic scenes so unsuitable for children/young teens.

I can't even with the greatness.
This series just keeps getting better.Where the first book give us the foundation of these characters, the second is where we see this world really building up. It's important to note that this series DOES have to be read in chronological order. It's impossible to understand what's going on if you don't.Alexis and Kieran are at an impasse. She's working for him because she knows it's what's best for her family even if she begrudgingly does it. Her fiesty is burning brighter than ever when it comes to our bossy dominating demigod and I have to say I really am loving the dynamics between these two. It's like a power play but without them actually knowing or fully understanding what kind of powers they're playing with. The chemistry is INTENSE. But this budding connection they have is sweet even if a little potent at times.I adore the side characters. Bria is just a whole vibe on her own and I can't get enough of her snarky outrageousness. Top that with Daisy who cracks me up with her attitude and need to know and Mordecai's unique sensibilities and honestly they are enough on their own. Add in the six?... Man I was overwhelmed with the huge personalities on the pages and thats not even including the main characters Alexis and Kieran. I mean that in the best ways. Everyone had their place even if they don't know it yet and they work together so well. Banter, bickering and all the crazy shenanigans make for an interesting story to say the least. This book picks of where book one left and it doesn't disappoint. Action, suspense.. crazy chemistry and all the feels make for an exciting, depthy read that I was wholly consumed in. I am loving this world and the many characters that are in it.

paranormal gold star
This is a 5* plus book , we again have all the gang from Sin & Chocolate, Lexi , her kids ,Daisy , Mordecai , Kieran ,the Demigod & his six still on a quest to release the soul of Kieran's mother from his fathers clutches , only now Lexi is his employee & his six are taking turns cooking the meals each evening . K.F Breene's characters are the reason these books work so well , you can't help loving the good one's & hating the bad guys , sarcastic ,feisty at times scary people that should know when they are beaten but never do & never leave a job unfinished even if the boss tells them too. Lexi is ably assisted & definitely led on by Bria , a necromancer who Kieran was hoping would help Lexi use her gift , sadly for him instead of one woman who doesn't listen he gets two . The sexual attraction between Lexi & Kieran ramps up to volcano level , not always approved of by her her kids but then a girl wants what she wants. The worst part of this book was finishing it because now i've got to wait for the next one .

This Is A Power House Of A Book In All The Best Ways!!๐5 Stars +++++
We got to meet the majority of the wonderful, scary, powerful, funny & ghostly characters in Book #1 'Sin & Chocolate'. In 'Sin & Magic' book #2, we get to meet a few more noteworthy ones & learn much more about the Family unit of Alexis, Mordecai & Daisy then about Demigod Kieran & his Six!!๐๐ชโ The Six take to training the kids, as Mordecai is still expecting to be challenged because of his Alpha power level. They also seem to really enjoy the Family atmosphere around the meal times they continue to supply, cook & enjoy together!!๐ They're all amazed by the non magical & supremely sassy Daisy, who fights hard and very dirty ๐Kieran teams Lexi up with Bria, a Necromancer, to try to train her magic & to help her in her quest to find his Mother's Selkie skin. He's desperate to free his Mother's spirit from his demented Father's hold!!๐ฅ Bria is an absolute hoot. Omg she had me gasping with laughter. Her idea of things being 'easy' or having a 'plan in place', varies in degrees from the most ridiculous to outright crazy!๐ All in the best ways possible for us readers, of course.๐ She's also a hilarious straight talker & a total bad*ss!!๐Lexi is learning fast. She's determined to help find the Selkie skin & thwart Demigod Valens' vile & sick hold over the deads spirit's. She refuses to leave a spirit suffering, like his wife is, and had suffered throughout her life!!๐Kieran & Lexi draw closer together. Their pull is almost unstoppable! He's becoming more fearful his Father may discover her & her power though!!๐ณ๐This book is a storm of Power & emotion's. It grabbed me by throat and heart from page one and I still haven't recovered. The righteousness of their cause, the devotion that grows between both separate groups, the kinship of all involved and the heat between Lexi & Kieran (๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ phew) it all just leaves you wanting more - more action, more family, more hilarity, just more - because it's that darn good!!๐ ๐This book is a true Rockstar amongst this genre!!๐ It honestly deserves more than just 5 Stars ๐ Its completely unmissable & eclipsed book #1 for me!๐ฅ๐บ๐๐๐ปDebbie, 1970, UK

A six book story
I was enjoying this series having read Book 1, when I realised the story was nowhere near finished, so downloaded the 2nd one. Little did I realise that the story was being spread over a SIX book set! The author may be good and it seems to be the trend for writers to write trilogy's to keep the reader buying and reading their books, rather than stand alone stories but dragging a story out for that long before the reader gets any conclusion becomes frustrating. I'd recommend you decide if you want to read six books before you begin.
