Nice illustrations, so-so writing
There have been a number of Precious Moments themed books. The latest one is the Precious Moments Book of Thanks. It’s a small hardcover book perfect for little ones’ hands that is filled with poems, each titled “Thank you, God, for…” followed by things little ones can be thankful for, such as wonderful sounds, songs, colors, playtime, all kinds of weather, special days, and so on. Each page, of course, is filled with colorful illustrations of the Precious Moments children doing all kinds of activities that mirror the poetry. There’s also a Bible verse on each page. The illustrations are beautiful as always, and of course are the star of the book. The poetry, I’m not so sure about. The poems are nice in the sense that they rhyme, but too many of them seem just thrown together. While the titles all start with “Thank you, God”, the poems aren’t prayers as the title would have you think, but just general poetry about the subject (this is probably because there is already a "Precious Moments Little Book of Prayers". Often, the rhymes seem a little too singsongy and contrived. I can’t shake the feeling that the writing was forced just to fill up space between the illustrations. So I’d buy the book with that in mind. Don’t expect too much from the poetry, but the illustrations and Bible verses do make this worth a purchase for avid Precious Moments fans young and old.

So Adorable!
Title: Little Book Of ThanksAuthor: Jean FischerGenre: Children, Christian, Gratitude, Precious Moments, Board Book, AutumnPlot: With the changing seasons come cooler weather and a focus on gratitude and being thankful for what we have in life. We can be thankful for the big things like a roof over our heads and the little things like toys to play with and fuzzy socks. The habit of being thankful for what we have is a healthy one and we can start at any time. We are never too young to begin expressing gratitude for what we have. This adorable board book uses the classic Precious Moments children to illustrate the lesson of being grateful to God for what He has provided us with. Little readers will delight in the pictures and rhyming stories of things they can find in their own little worlds to be grateful for. The perfect book for autumn and the Thanksgiving season.Likes/Dislikes: This is such a cute little book! I didn't know it was a board book when I saw it but I love that it is one! And Precious Moments are adorable. The words flow really well. My only observation is that it is about six pages too long for the 2 yr. old's attention span but with some practice she will get there.Rating: G-all ages, highly recommendedDate Review Written: September 25th, 2018I received a copy of this book courtesy of Booklook Bloggers for my honest opinion. I wasn't required to write a positive review and the opinions expressed in the above review are my own.

Sweet and thankful
Thanks and good feelings abound in these reflections about the blessings received during our daily lives. This is a sturdy, thick board book, perfectly made for small hands. The cover is slick and easy to wipe off from small accidents, and will hold up to a little more rough treatment. Each two-page spread holds a short poem (sometimes two), which reflect a couple things to be thankful for, according to each two-page theme. There is also a short Bible verse to reflect on.Thanks for silly songs...thanks for playtime...thanks for clouds and all sorts of, even sometimes, silly sounds. This small book hits a broad span of all the things kids, especially younger ones, can be thankful for. The themes are usually very broad and appropriate for children in many situations, making it easy for almost any little one to relate too. The poems change in length, tempo, rhyme and attitude, giving the pages as much variety as the things being thanked for. Each one is short and sweet, keeping it to a short attention span while still making the point loud and clear. The illustrations, as is with Precious Moments, are cute and radiate warmth and love. The kids are depicted in various activities, each one clearly holding emotions which even young listeners can pick up on. It's simply a sweet collection, which reminds how much God's given us and how even the smallest things in life make the biggest smiles.I received a complimentary copy from Booklook Bloggers and found it so sweet and cheerful that I wanted to leave my honest thoughts.
