Shades Skin Case for iPod Classic 6G/7G - 80 GB,120 GB and 160 GB - 2009 Model - Aqua

Being way behind the times, I got my first ever iPod for Christmas. I found it slippery in my somewhat arthritic hands and the back showed nothing but greasy fingerprints just from normal handling. I knew I had to get a case. I tried a silicon case from Best Buy, but it was thick and awkward, with a separate hard plastic cover that you had to fit in over the screen. So I came back to Amazon and found this case and gave it a try. It is perfect, absolutely perfect. It was very easy to put on - the iPod just slips in from the bottom. It covers the entire iPod with no cutouts for the screen or the wheel, yet both are still easy to access. The wheel does require a little harder touch to scroll but I found the wheel too sensitive in the first place, so this is another bonus. It gives a nice tactile feel to the iPod but still fits perfectly in the docking station of the speakers I bought. Best of all, although my only choices in an iPod classic were silver and black, I now have a beautiful turquoise one instead!

I wanted a case that would protect my iPod without adding a bunch of bulk to it. This case definitely helps protect my iPod but the quality definitely leaves a bit to be desired. It partially sticks to the screen and makes it look like there's liquid between the two and the bottom, where it stays open, doesn't seal or fasten in any way and ends up catching on everything. I'm still using it because it still protects it from scratches and dings, but it would have been nice if it was made a bit better.

I looking to replace an iPod case and wanted something slim that would protect the back.This isn't really a case in my opinion. Maybe that's what they mean by skin, but having the word case in the title is misleading. It's a plastic sheath with a hole in the bottom that you push the iPod through (with a bit of difficulty).It looks pretty cheap and I'm a bit horrified that I paid $13 for this. It will definitely not protect the iPod if you drop it from any distance. It will just keep it from getting scratched when it is in a bag.The color is also a bit different than the picture. It's translucent, so the one in the picture must be an old school white iPod. I have the silver one now and it's a much darker blue color when on.I hope this review will help people have a better idea of the product.

Having issues with navigation ever since putting this case on. In order to change to a different artist/podcast, I need to actually go back or lock & unlock the screen so that it will respond. I feel like the only way this will work properly is if I use a razor blade to cut out the protective layer over said buttons.In defense, everything else about the product has been very positive.

I got my aqua shades case today in the mail. I ordered the one for the i-pod classic, since this is the only case I found that has any style and bright colors for the classic.Before purchasing, I read a bunch of other reviews and used video posts to make sure that this would be a safe and reliable buy. It is!Lots of people were saying that the case doesn't fit the bottom of the player well, but mine is snug and all the way in. It is really nice and surprisingly doesn't look like it will slip even with the open slot at the bottom.It covers the whole thing and the only problems I have so far is that the hold button up top doesn't fit that well. The opening for that button is a little off center and my nail keeps scraping it in order to use the button.The other thing is that the wheel is really hard for me to use with the plastic coating. I have to press a bit harder and accidentally hit menu when that happens.I am sure that I just need to use it more often. Even if that doesn't work, I bet I can use a knife and cut out the center wheels plastic and widen the hold buttons slot. Easy fixes if I get too frustrated.All in all. I really like the color and that is protects the screen and silver back to my player! Plus the plastic casing is really durable. I am quite surprised!I would definitely think about getting other colors. Hope this helps all you thinking about getting this!

I recently purchased the 160GB iPod Classic in silver from Amazon and I had zero luck finding a protective case for it in the brick & mortar stores. An Apple store employee told me to "try Best Buy." Then a Best Buy employee said, "Oh, for that old thing? No, sorry." (Apparently the Touch is the only model the kids care about these days. "That old thing" -- I could have kicked him.) Therefore, I was so happy to find this product here on Amazon. The price is perhaps a tad too high for how simple an item it is, but I heartily commend the manufacturer for the minimal, eco-friendly, recyclable packaging. In person, the Aqua color is unlike the bright shade of blue pictured here on Amazon -- the actual hue is a deeper blue. As for the troubles other reviewers here have noted, I do NOT have any air bubbles at all, and the click wheel IS still quite operable. The holes in my case DO match up perfectly with the necessary parts of my iPod. It's true that the insertion of the device into the skin was NOT easy, but, as another reviewer wrote, it is made easier by slipping a business card in between the skin & the iPod. I also recommend wearing cotton/fabric gloves while putting on the skin in order to keep fingerprints and skin oils from mucking up the results. Due to the thickness of the 160GB model, the bottom slit of the skin does not completely close, but I find that acceptable. The fit IS very, very tight. I would gladly purchase another skin in a different color, so I hope this manufacturer sticks around. :-)

I want to like this case, I really do. It fits snugly, the color is true to the picture and the size of the ipod is not greatly increased by the thickness of the case. The problem with this case is that sometimes, other times it works fine, it prevents me from using the touch pad to change the volume level or move about the menu pages. It would get more stars if it wasn't for that.
