superb read.
There was a ball at the home of the Duke of Wellington. Unfortuately the Duke was ill and would not attend. But one very nasty fellow that did attend was the Duke of Buckingham and Chandros. They could not find the medicine for him, Regina the daughter of the duke needed to go upstairs to take care of him. She was dancing with the Duke of Buckingham, he did not want her to go. Her brother took her hand and removed her from the Duke's proximity. The Duke of Buckingham took it as an insult and William Marlow challenge him to a duel. Joane Hardwater is the daughter of the Duke of Buckingham and she met William at a ball but his intentions were of vengenance because the Duke of Buckingham cheated and William got hurt not just phyically but his pride as well, he had never lost before. This is a twisted story, so much going on and and just about everyone is playing a part. I am going to try to keep this short. A marvelous play with great characters and sub characters. William feels very close to Joanne and she feels the same but we have the nasty Duke. I could have very well been lost but the author kept us heading in the right direction. The tale was interesting, well written and moved smoothly. I very much enjoyed all the doings of the characters. Well worth the time to read.I received this ARC from the author and voluntarily reviewed.

This 471 page book is very badly written, and apparently unedited.
In case you think a book this badly written must at least have an interesting plot, let me save you some time. H fights duel with hโs father (f) losing only because of her fโs cheating. H decides to retaliate by ruining h, but quickly starts falling in love with h. There is a side story of Hโs best friend (fr) falling in love with hโs best, very outspoken fr. Hโs f is ill throughout story. Hโs m wants him to marry the d of her good friends. H agrees to meet and talk with this young woman. He finds her to be attractive and amiable, but she soon confides that she is in love with another man. Together they agree to appear to be courting for a short time to satisfy both sets of parents. The outspoken fr of h warns her that H is likely to be using her to retaliate against her f, and sets out to find evidence that this is true soon discovering what appears to be a courtship with another woman. Meanwhile, H and h are falling passionately in love. Our h is devastated by the information her fr brings to her of Hโs courtship. As expected, the troubled waters are eventually calmed by accurate information after lots of anxiety is exhibited. But now, not surprisingly, f of h refuses to let H and h marry. However, he offers to relent if H wins a second duel with him. Our h, Hโs m, and Hโs deathly ill f all entreat H not to duel the underhanded hโs f. H wants to duel and restore his honor while also enabling him to marry h. Wow! There is a solution. Our hโs home is burning down from an unknown cause. Everyone is out of the building except hโs f. H runs into the inferno and carries hโs f to safety. Then, as acting duke because of his fโs illness, he not only offers h and hโs f lodging in Hโs home, but also pays the large cost of rebuilding hโs home. H and h marry with her fโs approval. Iโve obviously left out some details, but if you appreciate good writing, you wonโt want to get those details.

There are also some continuity problems in a few places in The book. Misspellings are not rare, there were even places where sentences didn't make sense because of wrong words used! Please edit the book again before the public publishing date!

Action packed Steamy Romance
I got into the story immediately. A lot of great action from strong characters. If you can and are willing to overlook error in the historical details and poor editing this is an enjoyable read with an interesting plot. I feel the title is misleading. There seems to be a trend lately in historical romance to portray the female lead to be fiesty, forward and very liberated. I don't feel that the young sheltered virgins in this era would think or have the kind of confidence In the bedroom as they are portrayed with. It would not have been the done thing. In this book I think they are using the description of a Bluestocking to describe a worldly woman as opposed to a well read woman with confidence in her intelect. I chose to overlook that and enjoy the book. I recomend this for 18 + as there is a lot of adult content. I Enjoyed the epilogue which wrapped the story up with a happy ending for everyone. I received this book as an ARC.

title of book not related to main characters
I was a bit confused for the first half of the book as the main female character was not the bluestocking. I also was surprised that at one point William donned leather shorts to go to Breakfast, and I was also surprised that Joane greeted William on one occasion in a SHORT dress. There were places where the main characters did not ring true, so while the story was interesting, it did have a few places where wrong names were used and some content was out of context. If you are willing to overlook a few technical issues, and like some spice, you will most likely enjoy this story.

Not right
I love Regency novels but not this one.The author is obviously not familiar with the titles of the aristocracy. No Duke would be called Mr ever. Also one page a Duke is referred to as an Earl the next he is a Duke.Even the hair of the women was described ad short but in those days no woman let alone an Earls daughter or a Dukes one would have short hair. Also the characters especially Williams were extremely unpleasant.I wad extremely disappointed as the story had good promise, but might I suggest that the author if she wants yo impress the Audiences brush up on her English history.....

Good
I found this a good book. I liked the relationship between Joane and William. It was a complex story but flowed quite well. I found the parts where the hero thinking and the heroine wondering what he was thinking a bit too often in the book.

Nice story but nothing special
The story was quite nice and interesting, but I found the writing repetitive and, in some parts, difficult to comprehend. Didn't like some of the expressions she used when describing sex scenes.
